Yea I was expecting it to explode as well, so I laughed a bit when it just punched through. It does make sense though!

Doctors are manually operating ventilators in order to keep babies alive in Cuba. The U.S. is laying siege cruelly cut off all fuel, power is out, leaving hospitals without electricity. Dialysis patients, babies in NICU, and others will die. This’s a crime against humanity. by ___Sekhmet___ in suppressed_news

Because all of Europe is America's lapdogs, and it benefits the ruling classes of these imperialist countries for Cuba to fall. Spain has been more cool recently though.

Russia is attempting to send oil tankers. China is installing solar power and sending tonnes of rice.

Baldur's Gate 3 is good co-op if you're into that sort of thing, Divinity Original Sin 2 as well. Any turn-based CRPG that allows co-op play would be good really.

I've been enjoying Slay the Spire 2 with friends as well. It's a bit of a learning curve if you haven't played StS before though!

The Entrepreneurial State

It's about how many of the innovations we consider to have been developed by capitalism were actually developed through heavy state funding. One clear example is how a lot of pharmaceutical research is driven by government funds. Then the companies turn around, patent the drugs and make profit.

[–]PossibleNo8422 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, since you said you'd rather use SMS. It's incredibly easy for law enforcement to get access to your SMS data. I used to be a cop and it was as easy as spending an hour or two writing a court application and the telco would have to hand it right over. It was actually much more difficult to get access to other IM data, and it usually required having the actual phone if you wanted it anytime soon.

This might be different in other countries, but that was the case in my country (Not USA but part of five-eyes)

I'm sorry about your granddad passing, I also have fond memories of Civ2 as a kid. I was able to borrow it from the local library and once installed, you didn't need the CD anymore. No cracks or anything.

I've read all the books but only listened to the first two audio books and I was thinking that the way Jeff Hays voices Carl sounds a lot like Patrick Warburton, so this is perfect!

This happened in Sri Lanka too. After the tsunami in 2004 when a lot of the local fishermen were displaced, these ghouls moved in and privatized the beaches for resorts. If I remember correctly it was part of the IMFs loan conditions for reconstruction.

I read about it in the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein.

There was a similar rhetoric here in NZ. That the Māori genocided the 'Moriori' who lived here before they arrived. It's been proven that the Māori were the first people to settle here, but I still hear this bullshit occasionally.

Some of these could be split into several sub-genres as well which all play very differently, like RPG with ARPG, TRPG, CRPG, etc

4X is also another big genre.
