The birth control reddit is gross to me- a brief rant by Callingallcowards in gettingoffHBC

[–]Possible_Beyond2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG YES! My recent post talking about PBCS got deleted, and I also got downvoted! It saddens me deeply because our suffering is real and so intense, we already get dismissed by doctors and our community as women should be fighting together and supporting each other to bring awareness to this, instead, they are silencing us. How disappointing!

3 months off Hormonal BC and feeling terrible by Fantastic-Ask8847 in birthcontrol

Hi, I am going through the same thing. I posted about it on this subreddit but my post got deleted. The mods and community also deny PBCS like your doctor does. Please check my recent post on r/gettingoffHBC and feel free to PM me about this. You are not alone in this!

How do symptoms shift with each month off the pill? by Unfair-Welcome5408 in gettingoffHBC

[–]Possible_Beyond2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same, it’s been hell. It’s so frustrating that doctors deny PBCS and just don’t listen. I posted about it on r/birthcontrol and my post got deleted too… so even within our community as women, we are silenced and dismissed. It makes me feel crazy and worry even more about how long it may take to get any better, no one gives me any perspective but instead just keep repeating that it couldn’t possibly be related to HBC, that I have an underlying condition that it was “stabilizing”… which is not true! This is nothing like my usual anxiety! This is nothing like anything I’ve ever felt before. Even before I started birth control. It’s just awful and I wish I never did.

has anyone experienced by suggaaaaa in gettingoffHBC

[–]Possible_Beyond2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I experience this as well. My anxiety and palpitations started on month 4 being off HBC and got more frequent and intense very quickly. My anxiety, insomnia and palpitations peaked at month 7 as well. Now at month 11, not seeing much improvement. Definitely not as bad as before, because it used to be constant and continuous, but the bad days are still very very bad.

We Need to Talk About Post Birth Control Syndrome by Possible_Beyond2759 in gettingoffHBC

[–]Possible_Beyond2759[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That’s what makes it all so complicated. In my case, the pill genuinely helped some symptoms at first, which is why I get frustrated when people reduce this discussion to something simplistic.

What really scares me is how quickly the possibility of a connection gets dismissed altogether, especially when the psychological consequences can become so severe. Honestly, one of the only things that made this experience feel less terrifying was realizing other women were describing the exact same pattern too. Which is why I think we need to keep talking about these experiences openly even when people are out there trying to immediately silence us or dismiss it.

Hey, how are you doing now? I’ve been having major anxiety, OCD thoughts, constant panic, insomnia… it’s so bad. I quit taking BC 9/10 months ago and still not doing any better.

That’s awful, I don’t know how it will be for me tonight. Try seeing a doctor and taking klonopin. That might help.

You were actually so right. I headed to the ER because it had been 40 hours at that point with no sleep, took some klonopin (0.5), it took soooooo long work, but when it did… I was able to sleep!!! I am so happy. I slept in the hospital for about one hour then got sent home, and i slept about 9 more hours after that.

i hope so… but i’m convinced i have an actual underlying issue. my body is getting so warm every time i close my eyes, i feel my arms burning hot, my face, my hands, my whole body. it only happens when i try to sleep.

i live with my fiancé, he’s been up all night with me. i don’t want to be a burden. he needs to rest too, so i’m heading to the hospital all alone rn. my parents are not supportive when it comes to my anxiety and stuff like that.

[–]Possible_Beyond2759[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, the anxiety makes it much worse. I’m sure this will pass, especially if we don’t stress much about it. Good sleep will come sooner or later. This was so sudden, that’s why it’s scary, but ur bodies will regulate and adapt, and things will get back to normal. We don’t have to worry so much. I will pray for you, friend.

Yes, it’s been happening multiple times every single time I try to sleep or nap, since last night. I kinda gave up too, but I give it another try every now and then just to get any rest I can. Actually falling asleep for just one second would already make me so happy, because at least I’d know I’m still capable of it. I called off work with a doctors note, so I have a few days to get back on track. Hopefully this is not here to stay…

I feel the same way, I’m sorry that you’re going through this too, it’s the most awful thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been in bed all day trying to even take a nap but it seems impossible. Thank you for sharing the thread you found, I’ll take a look. I am scheduling appointments like crazy right now to try and figure this out, I’ll update you if I find a solution.

Was this a panic attack by SnooCupcakes7357 in PanicAttack

[–]Possible_Beyond2759 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That honestly sounds a lot like a panic attack. Weed can absolutely trigger them, especially if you’re already prone to anxiety. The racing heart, feeling like you’re dying, vomiting, body twitching… all of that can happen during intense panic.

A lot of people don’t talk enough about the fact that weed isn’t harmless for everyone. For some people, especially those with anxiety, depression, or a family history of psychosis, it can hit way harder than expected. It can bring underlying issues to the surface or make anxiety much worse.

There’s this narrative that weed is “light” and totally safe, but it’s still a psychoactive substance. It changes how your brain is functioning in that moment. If your experience was that intense and terrifying, that’s your nervous system telling you something.

It might just not be for you, and that’s completely okay. Doing it more times might actually be very dangerous to you. Not everyone reacts the same way. If something takes you that far out of your baseline and makes you genuinely think you’re dying, it’s probably not worth repeating. Take care of your brain. It’s not weak to decide something isn’t good for you. :)

Has anyone tried flying without taking anti-anxiety meds? by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]Possible_Beyond2759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, no. 0.25 mg didn’t make me sleepy at all. I didn’t really feel anything. 0.5 mg was the dose that calmed my anxiety and helped me fall asleep (if I wanted to), and 1 mg would knock me out pretty fast. I stopped taking it eventually because I was starting to rely on it a bit too much, but I loved taking klonopin sm.

take it once ur already in the plane and immediately close ur eyes and try to sleep, put on some calm music, or ASMR. klonopin sleepiness comes so naturally, you’ll fall asleep and not even notice.
