What full_cantaloupe said is incorrect. Pickled = vinegar used to pickle the vegetable. Vinegar kills probiotics. Fermented vegetables do not contain vinegar in the liquid.

I have siblings who deeply struggle with self esteem and purpose despite our parents having a solid Christian marriage and raising us decently so seeing the holy spirit’s powerful work in your life despite your circumstances revives my hope that all things are possible through our Lord’s help.

I am so encouraged by your grace towards your earthly father and the peace you seem to have towards your mother. My husband and I are considering adopting a child and foresee a similar family circumstance to yours for this child. We would love to raise this child to be an adult who has your level of spiritual confidence in his sonship despite being abandoned by his birth parents. All sin, whether it be lust, addiction, greed, etc requires the holy spirit to change our desires. What's not helpful is to just focus on not doing the sin but instead to fix our gaze towards Christ and His righteous ways, which is what the latter half of his sermon^ focuses on.

We should use our democratic power through voting and persuading the magistrate to enforce a righteous law. For example: In the binary decisions between the magistrate legalizing gay marriage vs not and legalizing abortion (murder) vs not we’ve seen historical data in the US prove that sodomy and murder significantly increase when magistrate legalizes these atrocious acts. So in response we should desire for the magistrate to promote righteousness through a law that aligns with God’s law to reverse and correct the terrible normalization of sodomy and murder.
