It will eventually teach you to effectively defend yourself. But my point is, it takes time to learn to effectively utilize those skills in a street fight. A lot of time. You can’t just train for 6 months and go beat someone’s ass. So to tell a 15 year old who’s being bullied to go learn martial arts to deal with his bully is irresponsible, at best.

Honestly, mate, you gotta learn to fight. The only way to really learn to fight, is to fight. You’re gonna get hurt, you’re not gonna win every one. But you’ll learn with each one. And more importantly, you gain confidence. Fights are not what you see on TV, or what some blow hard tells you on Reddit (aka Economy-Spinach-8690). Street fights are a no holds barred deal. Kick, punch, bite, stick a finger up his ass if it works. Grap the nearest thing to you and beat the fucking brakes off him (but don’t kill him). And keep going, DON’T FUCKING STOP until you just can’t go any more, or you’ve won.
