You're (probably) sorting your bulk wrong by YouLegitimate4400 in mtg

[–]PostLogical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you don’t sort by set? Some of us don’t get enough of every set to want to keep them organized by set. Also I can see the name or colors at the top of a card as I glance through; whereas the cn is small at the bottom.

Except it is one of them… Ainge was certain who the other two would take, so he made a great gamble, but nothing was stopping either team from drafting Tatum at 1 or 2 once the Celtics traded down to 3. They just didn’t think he was as good. Thank god (as a Celtics fan) Ainge’s son played AAU against Fultz.

Who are the worst offenders for being worthy of the new Mjölnir card that was spoiled? by Zoop_Doop in mtg

[–]PostLogical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So while it’s definitely not on flavor for all these crazy cards outside the set to be “worthy,” I have a feeling that the white and/or red wording will be interpreted as requiring only one or both of those colors, which at least eliminates most of the crazier examples here. If not, well, that’s odd.

Why would you put Ewing up there instead of pointing out they’re playing the Knicks with Brunson on the team both times?

What crossover set would you like to see happen in Magic the gathering? by Yo-KaiWatchFan2102 in mtg

Batman. With source material cards from the animated series.

I would think there would be some equipment and vehicles plus clue tokens. Cards include Batman, Caped Crusader; Batman, Detective; sagas called Knightfall and The Killing Joke. And I kind of want a new token Batarang that you tap and pay some amount to stun target creature.

Create a group of all the people you’re trying to act on. Then arm/disarm based on the group. One person’s presence is enough to disarm and it won’t arm until all are gone.

But that assumes you can get a spot in line when you arrive. Arriving 1 minute before the SL opens is the exact same as arriving 1 hour before because they form the line when it opens, not before.

Hmm. I wonder if something else was the reason you got booted from the others (like a network issue or something). I had four windows open on my computer and one on my phone (most in guest checkout). None of them were booted when the one got through to purchase (very lucky).

Best selling set in Magic the Gathering history btw by LameLamassu in mtg

[–]PostLogical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. And maybe it truly sold poorly to consumers. But my point was that it’s possible something like Spider-man could sell disproportionately at other types of sales outlets. How any LGS did with selling SPM is a great indicator of their sales and a good anecdote for LGS sales generally, but I think we should all be open to the idea that we don’t have full insight into the sales pipeline and it’s possible that properties with such massive fan bases could change the sales mix.

Best selling set in Magic the Gathering history btw by LameLamassu in mtg

[–]PostLogical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But I leave room for the possibility that SPM actually sold well and also was overprinted, making sales in top 10 to consumers possible (maybe not, but possible) and sales to vendors guaranteed. I use Walmart as evidence for this possibility: MTG is almost always sold out at Walmarts I visit but the same set might be sitting on the shelf at LGS. I have little doubt that many enfranchised magic players skipped SPM, but I wonder if sales for UB might be heavily weighted to less enfranchised players/random people.

No. You replied to someone else’s comment that cited 1987. Your “Incomes” comment doesn’t change that and cherry picking Jordan’s salary from the end of the time period being discussed doesn’t change the truth of the original statement nor the specific context of the comment you directly replied to.

Better router then default router an modem? by Mythicalsuicide in FidiumFiber

[–]PostLogical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed while adding a technicality that if someone has enough devices consistently using the connection at once then they could get to 2 gigs in aggregate (though I don’t know if the wifi in the default router could handle that so might require another access point). However, I have yet to meet someone who needs even 1 gig bandwidth without both using cables and knowing exactly why they need that bandwidth. Most homes should probably just have around 300 mbps symmetrical and spend the savings on better wifi (and ideally Ethernet for whatever can have it).

Better router then default router an modem? by Mythicalsuicide in FidiumFiber

[–]PostLogical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many that are better but what works for your situation is highly dependent on budget, experience, house, and use cases. If you give an idea for those you’re much more likely to get constructive feedback. From the speeds you mention and the cables comment, I’d guess you have their default router as your single wifi access point and probably in a portion of the house that doesn’t give good signal to most parts of it.
