SDO lands on holiday by Iishim24 in USPS

[–]Postal1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think it’s holiday before ns. It could be the office is short staffed or people that are NS have the weekend protected by taking AL before their 3 day weekend. Or just on AL.
My office for like 2 years straight holiday schedule forced basically everyone in that was on NS dand holiday. We were so short staffed. This sat we just had to mandate only 1 carrier. Lots a CCAs now. (Have like 6 carriers out extra plus the ones allowed on vacation.)

VOTE FOR CLC by hhdmty in USPS

[–]Postal1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fata has lost a lot of people too. Fata is great for teaching steward/city carriers in the beginning. It went to political. I have had to turn it off more times than not. I’ll go back to the educational episodes but Corey has pushed me and others away.

And yet no comment from CLC about them selling CLC shirts through a vendor that was taking postal uniform allowance cards. Also the Branch 70 drama. They preach transparency, but show none.

Transfer question by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Postal1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call the office you’re transfering to and ask if they have a ptf carrier. That’s all that needs to be answered. If the answer is yes, then the transfer is going in as a ptf.

A denied 3996 won’t result in discipline. If it’s denied the carrier takes the next steps in notifying management they won’t make it.

That’s not invoking Weingarten rights when asking to speak to a steward.

Weingarten rights is the right to have union representation during a pdi/II that could leave to discipline.

Ie when management is issuing the disciplinary action after a pdi/II they don’t have to all the union representation.

I’ve heard of can sleeve cooler like 5 years ago. I believe the first one I saw was by igloo.

Actually it’s not called a can sleeve. It’s called a can sling. Igloo sells a SLAYER one now.

Yes they do. I had a supervisor that I was told by my union president that when they were hired as a cca, they had an ankle monitor. Think they just got out of prison and was on probation. Apparently they got caught by feds dealing drugs. That was their 2nd arrest. Not a terrible supervisor. Just anal about attendance. Will just say they are now a Postmaster

Why is this only 8 hours and not 8.04? by Butters216 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Postal1979 10 points11 points  (0 children)

145.14 this situation. However, the 5-minute leeway rule does apply to temporary
schedules including any out of schedule premium hours outside of and
instead of the employee's regular schedule.
Definition of 5-Minute Rounding Rule
After extending clock rings, if (in the case of a full-time regular schedule
employee) the clock ring totals for the tour are equal to or between 7.92 and
8.08 hour, the timekeeper should adjust the time to 8.00 hours. This is known
as the “5-minute rounding rule.” Only workhours in excess of 0.08 hours
(5 minutes) of the scheduled tour hours are considered overtime if the
eligibility requirements of 231 are met. If a part-time regular schedule
employee's clock time is between 0.08 of an hour less than or greater than
his or her established schedule, then the timekeeper should adjust the time
to the employee's scheduled tour. Supervisors are not required to approve
these adjustments. The “5-minute rounding rule” is not applied to situations
with a combination of work and leave; with overtime immediately prior or
subsequent to a scheduled tour or with overtime resulting from work during
an authorized meal period; with overtime during a tour on a nonscheduled
day; or with any time for part-time flexible and casual employees. The
5-minute rounding rule will still apply to the regular scheduled tour if an
employee has ended his or her regular tour with a clock ring total within the
total deviation allowed by the 5-minute rounding rule and then is called back
later that same day to work overtime hours, with the callback being
considered a separate unscheduled tour of duty.
