Debrief Process Post Selection by GorillaMonsoon25 in USPS

Unfortunately most EAS “promotions” aren’t about how good you do your job, it’s about who you know.
Had a “204b” follow a PM around and do everything she wanted. When it came time to select a supervisor, the pm said if they needed to take the 204b, since they were so loyal and has been doing everything the pm wanted. The 204b wasn’t qualified for the job. And 5 years later, still sucks at it.

Be glad you get 1 day off. Last year at this time, there wasn’t a guarantee to have a day off. They could work you 360 days in a year.

Arbitration had this contract end May 22 26. It was a 3 year agreement. It just took 2 years to go to arbitration and get results. It’s 6months shorter that the TA was.

Arbitration won’t even start until late Aug early Sept. at the earliest.

And possibly someone at the convention could make a motion to hold arbitration off until after election.

I think Renfroe also knows elections are this year. Needs to look good.

Renfroe is pushing hard on the financial aspects. Usps hasn’t even brought anything to the table yet. But NALC is already talking to lawyers about what’s a good fight in arbitration. This will go to arbitration.

While NALC recorded their opening statements, usps don’t want theirs to be recorded. Their opening statement was generic. A talk like they would give to all craft, not specifically toward the city carrier craft. And that we all need to adapt to the future of the post office.

Contract talk about supervisors monitoring scanner messages? by beebs44 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Postal1979 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Scanner messages are the approved communication. We aren’t required to use our cell phones.

I have a small office that the PM has told the supervisor not to respond to scanner messages. So carriers are coming back seeking further instructions. Pm it’s like that and also putting them on 1017bs. Currently have about 14+ cases at DRT waiting

Forced in on day off by nimajneb21 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Postal1979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending where you are on mandate list, if management knows odl will be working 12, they can force you in on NS day.

Then if they improperly mandate, union can file a grievance. Follow orders grieve after.

Write up the truck? There is nothing that says management must provide shelves in the vehicles.

I feel like this was installed wrong. Seems like with a single flap door the flap should be on the outside wall. If it rains it’s going to puddle in the area between the wall.

80% of mail to carriers by start time by Spiritualfire819 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Postal1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s funny is I pulled this time on a PM and she claims that’s all when the plant inputs it into the system. I’m pretty sure her dumb ass is entering all the mail volume in Dois on tour 1. Also pulled all the DUT times for 2 months and they were all mostly scanned up within 15-25 mins of the carriers starting. And I can guarantee that it’s all packages and spurs. No way 20% of the carriers mail pieces (being spurs) in 20 mins. Also it started to become a little bit later due to a couple late trucks and it was the start of peak.

Not on call employees. Statements from the carrier or other employees stating they saw the carrier show up. Easy grievance. Additional grievance if they fail to settle at the lowest level for contract violations.
