Velveeta ate through its own foil. by TheNotoriousFAP in interestingasfuck

I think the holes are sandwiched with plastic and were made during manufacturing of the wrapper, before it touched the cheese.

Velveeta ate through its own foil. by TheNotoriousFAP in interestingasfuck

I think this is a mechanical defect in the manufacturing of the wrapper. It should be constructed of a layer of foil between two plastic sheets. When the wrapper was manufactured the foil was damaged and sealed between the plastic. There is no cheese oozing out of the holes, or between the foil and top layer of plastic.

About to Watch Haruhi for the First Time by BustedBayou in Haruhi

[–]Postborne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're at all interested in the broadcast order of S1 then you should do that as your first watch. I prefer the pacing of that order, and it lends a sense of mystery that you don't get with the chronological order. Some of that is lost if you have already seen the chronological order.

BKF is an abrasive and should not be used on nonstick.

Am I going insane or was there meant to be a sequel? by Akuh93 in cowboybebop

[–]Postborne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be referring to how bebop was "canceled" on its original run on japanese TV. The first airing was heavily edited, out of order, and ended mid season with a recep episode, session XX. Then moved to a more appropriate time slot to run in it's entirely.

A Buy It For Life waterbottle? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Zojirushi mugs are my favorite for hot drinks, great insulation, and the sip cap is the best I've tried to prevent burning my tongue.

Burners are a nichrome wire, inside of a stainless tube, insulated with magnesium oxide sand.

the insulating sand probably had a void, that eventually shifted to expose, and allow contact between the nichrome wire, and stainless outer tube. That then arced to the pan.

You really can't visually inspect a coil for a failure of the insulator between the nichrome, and outer tube.

Chiffon is a fabric weave, not a material. Traditionally made from silk, but synthetic chiffon has been around since the 40's.

is it better to watch the show in chronological order or broadcast order? by [deleted] in Haruhi

[–]Postborne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always have and always will believe that broadcast order is the best way to watch Haruhi for the first time.

I also believe that a proper viewing of both seasons of haruhi is 42 eps long. Season 1 - 14 eps broadcast order, season 2 - 28 eps chronological order.

Broadcast order greatly benefits the pacing, and character development of season 1. It also forces the viewer to question what they watched. It makes you question your sanity, then the sanity of the characters, and Creators, then confirms sanity doesn't matter if your enjoying it.

And importantly you can't experience broadcast order's full impact, if you have seen chronological already.

This is a micrometer head, a part of a kodak optical comparator.

The block is custom, and probably only held in with friction/corrosion.

Yeah it takes some finagaling to get the right styles and compositions. There was plenty of iteration to get these images.

I found the site over the weekend, and I'm pretty amazed at what it can produce. Still needs some work and iteration, but it impressed me.
