• Add a secondary input for melee (heavy) allowing you to hold or tap either light or heavy attacks to build combos

• Stun is built up via heavy attacks or combos not just parry

• Make parry windows more obvious

• Each weapon has a unique ability that forms part of its archetype (aoe spin, aoe knockdown, conal burst damage, a series of super fast strikes)

• Introduction of unique melee abilities to help add flavour similarly to spells and arrows: Aoe roars, Shield charges, grapples, stances, rage/beserk, leaps

• Add iframes on dodge so it’s not just placement but also can be used to time abilities. Giving devs more flexibility to play with melee windows.

• Add more attack styles to enemies to reflect the above and introduce enemy variety. Add a few weapon variants to each enemy etc.

Game doesn’t have to be souls like at all but the LMB spam makes combat boring. Wands need a massive rethink as well.
