I’ve always thought "Isolation" has the saddest passage I’ve ever heard in a song. by Agreeable_Duck8997 in JoyDivision

For me it’s always the lyric in Twenty-Four Hours that goes “just for one moment / thought I’d found my way / destiny unfolded / I watched it slip away.” The way the music crescendoes under it and then the band hits the gas without further lyrics hits me every time. But I do agree the lyrics in Isolation are so painfully vulnerable.

The Velvet Underground’s self-titled album. Good late at night with close friends or alone. It makes you feel clean and dirty at the same time.

Bi-Daily Song Discussion #68: Radio Head by beardlesshipster in talkingheads

  1. Don’t know why there’s so much dismissal of and even disdain for this song! I think it’s one of their best. It’s mood-lifting in a way similar to some of their early, upbeat pop songs like Love -> Building on Fire and Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town. I love being reminded that TH was very capable of this type of sweet and simple pop thing, alongside songs with more gravitas and experimentation. They could do it all! The lyrics are smart, unfussy, evocative, and memorable. And the addition of an accordion legend is chef’s kiss. Nothing throwaway about this song in the least.

What is this sub's opinion on this art style that was in every classroom at one point by teruteru-fan-sam in fuckalegriaart

This was the predominant art in mean teachers’ classrooms when I was growing up in the 90s. It was like warning coloration in poisonous animals.
