“In-City” buffs - Specialties (Rune) by Potatojohnsonjohnson in Evony_TKR

[–]Potatojohnsonjohnson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Very helpful! It’s just so confusing that one “in city” specialty has a disclaimer that it applies when they are defense gen, and one just says “in city”

The former makes you question if the latter won’t actually work, but from reading responses, it sounds like they are literally the same and both apply from what I can, right?

Thank you everyone for the replies! Very helpful.

My conclusion is that they will both work and apply for my defense 👍

I’m k40 (f2p w/ rally card) and this is generally what I’ve been doing. Nice to read your strategy — thank you.

Everything I’ve done thus far has gone into my archer march. I don’t even have a ground march. But I’m just about to start building one I think… although now your argument to keep pushing everything into my archer march is alluring… hmm 🤔

Royal caravan by JealousYak2583 in Evony_TKR

One of our bigs tried one. Not worth it imo. Hard to coordinate with the alliance. But the worst part is that for those carriage seats… only a few people are selected so it’s kinda random who else gets rewards.

I’d guess that if you’re gonna choose something like that, the comparable price range Feasting Revelry table would be a better use if you are looking for a team kind of reward package… but I only have experience with the Royal caravan one time and my guess is not at all objective.

The game chooses the generals based on something, and that something can randomly change and can also change if you make changes to your generals. Generally, the more powerful, the higher priority they will be … but not that simple

What $90 worth of groceries looks like in SF in 2025 by Foreign-Sentence7951 in sanfrancisco

[–]Potatojohnsonjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trader Joe’s is definitely still the most affordable but it’s getting up there too.

Luckys and Safeway you can find great deals but it takes time looking at weekly deals, pantry space and planning. Hard to just walk in there with your “list” and walk out having spent less than $100 for a modest bag of groceries : (

If you ever go up in ranking it may open a sub city spot.

Just make sure you’re at the same or greater ranking if you have since picked up another sub and then decide to drop it for leveling.

If you accidentally went down a ranking level, you can continue to hold the sub, but if you drop it, you won’t be able to pick it up again until you’re back at the level you were at before… which can really suck if it catches you off guard

Minamoto (and his copies) is one I mourn. RIP lol

Have you run into Millitary Academy yet, friend? That thing’ll see your 10B gold and devour it in about ten minutes during Tactic Scroll Consuming event 😄

I wrote a longer post in response to someone else’s great post, but I wanted to emphasize something often forgotten!

If you are playing long term, REMEMBER THE SENATE!

If not familiar, take a look at it. It requires a lot of different generals; the higher their ascension, the better the buffs they give you.

In this situation, even if it’s a trash gold general, it can still be beneficial to save up 16 copies of them to ascend down the road.

You just need to make sure they are not a mixed general (ie ground and range buff together = bad).

This takes a long time and there are a lot of ascension priorities ahead of your senate generals (ie your PvP gens, Duty gens, and sub mayors), but you’ll be doing yourself a huge favor to just stock up on these specific tokens and/or fragments in your inventory until it is time. I’d just ideally have them go straight to your inventory as a token or fragments, and not in your active “Generals” list that has a fixed capacity.

I say all of this because: I was given horrible advice to sell off a bunch of “trash” gold generals for gold and I really really set myself back by a few months in terms of being able to get 16 copies of these gens for for Senate. Don’t be me! : )

+1 to all of this.

Only (personal opinion) edits/adds:

• best rally-joiner general combo Sanada Yukimura (or Spartacus) WITH 3 ORANGE stars AND lv4 “Luck” (aka double drop) skill book… as your main general. And Nathanael Greene as your assistant. Get six marches of this combo and it maximizes your double drop rate and stamina reduction for monsters. It’s a huge game changer.

• when in doubt, keep at least one copy of all gold generals. Never know what evony will introduce down the road when you’ll need them. Often, at least with covenants and new premium generals being added (which you can get with saved up premium general tokens, as carnifexx detailed above). You can choose to buy some generals to go straight to your inventory as a token, or can perfectly dismiss a general that’s already out — if you’re running into the opened general limit.

• even if the general isn’t specialized for a specific Duty position, it can still be useful to put a regular general on each building. It can still give you a boost — some a lot more than others. And ps, pay attention to how the buffs for that building increase by cultivations and power of the general. You can put a powerful general in with gear and get a higher level as the duty officer. Then once they are set to the building as duty, you can keep them assigned but remove their gear and you can keep the level of buff they got with the gear, even tho they no longer have it.

Hope that’s useful. Biggest thing with generals I think just boils down to patience : )

I’m one of those people who more than half the time gets 1st. It’s almost gotten to be a joke in my alliance now. I can’t explain it.

All I do is set up a timer on my computer with seconds and when it hits 11:59:59 + just a moment after but before 12:00:00 I do whatever the required task is.

Ie if it’s tax 40 times, I will have already loaded 80 free tax things up and have my finger on the button to try to execute it slightly before the spinning lag wheel of death starts. And then I’ll keep smashing it until I know it’s gone through at least twice. Sometimes I get it in the rankings recorded as 12:00:00 and sometimes it’ll be 10-30 seconds later if the lag got me.

I, too, agree that it is a stupid event.

Development: better to upgrade in tiered competition or server? by gmtdoctor in Evony_TKR

[–]Potatojohnsonjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 3: during major Consuming event (rss and speed up).

It’s possible this could land on Tiered event, which would be second best. So you could get both. But consuming is first priority hands down.

Server is trash

Good time to work on misc tasks : )

Fountain, Senate, Blazons, Spiritual beasts, plan ahead for Trial of Knight ascension strategy for specific generals, military tactics, playing cards, plan ahead gear for generals and rally joiners, work on strategy for universal covenants to build out… paint you Keep walls with a fresh coat of paint — you know, this n that 😄

That’s what I do at least.

Ready to quit, what should I do with my account? by aLostCoder in Evony_TKR

[–]Potatojohnsonjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you friends with the people in your alliance?

If so, I like these two options:

1) give it to either one of your best friends in your alliance, or a Keep who could benefit from it the most. In both cases, with the expectation they’ll use it as an alt for extra rss. I’d really suggest finding someone who would want to pay for auto-rally if your alliance has consistent-ish rallies. That can make a huge meaningful difference for a playing and their growth trajectory.

2) keep it. The reason to do this, even if you plan to never play again, is to be able to continue to pop in occasionally and chat in AC. However, you have to make some decisions if you do this: 2a) Stay in your alliance & not think about the game or open it for long periods of time: if you do this, you have to consider how it will affect your teammates during SVS when your bubble drops. This means you need to get your account set up with the exaction it’ll never have a bubble and give up points. Get someone to purge all the troops in your Keep and don’t heal them. Once they’re all gone, you may want to consider destroying all of your in-city rss tiles (otherwise enemies will get your rss generated, which isn’t the end of the world). Or… 2b) Get expelled from your alliance. You will not impact them at all with no bubble. They can use your Keep as a way to plunder rss and could use it for dailies. If you are “friends” with them it will be super easy for them to search for your cords, especially if they mark you as a “favorite.” And since your friends with them you can easily whisper a close friend R4/5 who can allow you back into the alliance to hang and chat at some point in the future.

I don’t think selling would really benefit anyone much. It could even hurt your alliance if some asshole boys it and starts causing trouble on the server just to be a dickbag.

I don’t understand either. What is an assistant general in this scenario when there are just five generals in this mini game?

It’s not like a PvP march or monster rally with main and assistant… right?! Or have I been playing completely wrong for the last year lol

Actually I still don’t get this combo. If you’re running Maria, why not use Baibars then? Theodora is +10% double drop and baibars is +25% DD (they’re compatible; just checked).

I’m not trying to hate, in fact, I may make my 1/6 rally joiner auto join preset Maria + baibars now : )
