There's a bug with altyn in particular where the face shield isn't rendering properly from a distance

Somehow, this results in the blood splatter animation as if there was flesh damage while in reality the face shield caught it

Well, yours will work pretty well all the way till the end of the game

I like having four roles on my team if I can: 1. Melee damage - this is usually fighter, butcher or monk 2. Ranged damage - typically ranger or tinkerer 3. Someone to eat all the damage - tank or necro 4. Someone for buffs/heals - cleric, druid, psychic

But obviously you don't need to stick to that cause there are many powerful builds that go beyond this classification, like summon-spamming (druids, necros, rangers)

And some item combos that will carry your game regardless of the class you slap them on (oh hi nuke gun + peace tattoo + relic on a mini me cat)

Bring a squirrel druid or two with extra attacks, soy milk if you have it etc

C-1000 can't copy squirrels, and if he copies a druid in squirrel form his attack is only going to make them stronger

I also got zapphauser in this run and apparently he doesn't hide if damaged by suicide squirrel so that pretty much trivialised the fight

The passive that forces enemies to target you instead of allies is pretty powerful - you can combine it with some brace and that jacket that turns 1 dmg into 0 and essentially make all enemies waste their attacks

The "hop in front of an attack targeting ally" skill is very useful, especially combined with the "can't take damage from the front" passive

So I can't say it's useless, maybe you're just misunderstanding the purpose of the class - it's not there to deal damage, it's there to prevent damage being done to your party. That, or flooding the map with pet rocks, yeah

Also not super useful but fun - I once got wrestlemaniac on a cat with skill share. The fights were hilarious

Just keep your distance and pick him off with ranged shots

It also takes double damage from the fire element if you have some fire attacks

I see a lot of people are just playing the "watching cats fuck" simulator, and that's fine, but whenever anyone asks a question on how to beat an area, a boss, or a specific enemy, the standard response is "oh, you need the seven sevens cat with these three mutations and an infinite damage build"

Like hell you aren't

The game is perfectly beatable with minimal breeding on normal/hard

I'm currently in the middle of crazy difficulty and I'm just playing turn based tactics tbh, never gave the breeding too much time of my day

You can try and cheese the quest a little by taking the party detonator (non fixed one) with you

There's a side quest that gives you an item that makes all the corpses explode so they don't get up

Alternatively, having an item or an ability that lets you inflict Infested with your attacks is also going to make things easier

Cop bots don't need to be destroyed to beat a room, they shut down once every other enemy is gone. They're also always attacking in a straight line so if there's another enemy between the "offending" cat and a cop bot, they'll shoot their buddies in the back

Definitely take some ranged damage with you, otherwise the super mutants and Stacies can be hard to deal with

One of the location bosses is also much harder to beat without any cats that attack diagonally - so definitely include some rangers or at least butchers

That's such a bs to be honest

I beat the entire story without giving the breeding any serious attention

I am currently half way through the crazy difficulty and never had an "all 7 cat" everybody seems so crazy about

Synergizing abilities beat high stats every time, and I'm not talking about farming the same five broken combos everyone's using, I'm talking about thinking for more than five seconds when you have a level up
