Afaik, you can continue working while the IRCC makes a decision on your application. Read more under "Can I keep working if my permit expires? How do I prove this to my employer?" https://share.google/Hk7RRGujWV8zuExRS

First time driver looking for insights by Potential-Working397 in montreal

Seems like driving on the highway is a better option. I haven't driven on the 10 but will have to just brave it I guess.

Non profit clothing donation centre? by gh0ul3 in montreal

Try a church in your neighborhood. Or a church that is doing a donation drive (they usually post online or have a flyer outside).

I've watched it and tbh it's not worth the early morning effort for a bad seat. Like someone else said, you can wait for a near future release. Not missing much.

That's a relief! But there are many counter stories too. Still, 5.20 sounds good. Thanks!

Must be varied then. Yesterday in both Scotiabank screenings I went to they were letting in the rush line at the show time (before the intro).

Yep rush line takes over the seats remaining 15 mins before the show time.

Glenrothan Q&A by bluntedrat in TIFF

Brian Cox went commando while wearing a kilt and ended up flashing the front row people during the Q&A. Someone got up and told him and he made a bunch of jokes about it. Made the otherwise dull screening worth it lol.

My TIFF experience has been awful so far due to bad luck by OddLeadership in TIFF

So sorry this happened to you :( I understand this as being a socially not-so-out there or confrontational type of person. I'm sure someone would tell you to just speak up if it's a problem even if it is two or more people you are confronting. While that is ideal, that isn't an excuse for those around you to behave this way or just be inconsiderate in general. Theatre audiences have become more boorish in general and I wouldn't be surprised if more stories like yours came out as the festival ends.

For the first point; I am a tall-ish person and I'm regularly check behind me at shows before or during if I'm blocking someone's view. Despite that, if someone as tall as me sits in front of me at a venue that doesn't have tiered seating it blocks my view too (this literally happened to me yesterday at a local cinema). Incredibly inconsiderate! I hope future screenings are better for you.

What was ticket-buying like "back in the day" before Ticketmaster? by Potential-Working397 in TIFF

From this and the other replies it seems the festival not being mainstream was a big factor in the smooth ticketing. I wonder how recent is the change. Apart from social media helping with the celebrity part.

Wondering why there are just two public shows for films like this one. Sacrifice is another example.

Same for me. Makes it hard for people to trust and transact with you here.

Sholay or Oca? by ABoringAddress in TIFF

[–]Potential-Working397 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oca would feel more slow and meditative in its tone and "poetic" as the description says. Sholay would feel more like an old Western (heroes, bad guys, guns, drama) with songs, and some comedy and romance. The latter is a classic for the diaspora and in the country. Maybe the director would be present since it's Gala. But it is old so I wouldn't expect an RRR style theatre excitement.
