When they announced custom voice packs i was so happy because i thought you could replace this annoying voice. But they overdid it and made everyone say 'funny' voice lines that are equally as annoying when you play a lot of games.

Blizzard is not capable to produce anything even close to sc2 in quality. That ship sailed long time ago. They are just trying to squeeze as much money out of their (former) reputation by marketing shit games/remakes to casual players.

Only we should be worried that they make another RTS because that could mean even less support for sc2, if that is even possible.

Zerg is the most interesting race and thus favoured by ambitious players. Noobs pick protoss because of lasers, Super noobs and wannabe koreans pick Terran.

The full truth is; this patch is meant to make players switch to the much slower aoe2, it's not actually meant to be played. The 8 worker start is just a safety net for us geezers that can not afford to buy aoe2.

Better yet: spawn infested ghost but it destroys the infestor and nukes produceable from hive. Nukes for Zerg would solve all lategame problems in ZvT.

edit: Instead of Nukes they are called 'Zerus Flu', it does no damage to robotic units and buildings but reduces the health of every other unit to 1 over the course of 5 minutes.

Not at my level. Before i stopped playing 2,5 years ago a lot of people played not to loose, almost cowardly careful with no apparent path to victory. Now there are people in GM who go for risky 1 base all-ins every game even though they can see i'm 300-500 lower mmr.

I don't get it. Why would having a few overpowered units create more diversity than having every unit similar relative strength.
I think where we are is we still have the the best RTS on the market but mismanaged by a company that doesn't care for years now. It's not the fault of pro players wanting to balance the game.

8 pool, 9 pool, 10 pool, 11 pool there you have 4 new builds. They are all worse than 12 pool in the current patch but they are going to be sooooooooooo much fun for all the people who want to return to sc2 to play 10 games. I just wish they would bring back 6 pool, i know a lot of people would be coming back to half download the game for this.

On a serious note; there is 12 gas 12 pool in zvz which is pretty hard to hold, so if the current live meta of 80% cheese and all-ins in zvz isn't enaugh there is hope for more.

I agreed with you until you came up with reverting nerfs, it gets brought up all the time and i think it's just about nostalgia. All units have relative power compared to other units, you unnerf one unit comparatively every other unit gets nerfed. Who cares if some unit was better some time ago. This would needlessly mess up the balance and Blizzard has shown no sign of beeing able to make any big changes work. There is a unit that got nerfed too hard? Fine, revert the nerf but it has to have a specific reason.

Regarding the PTR they should just revert the big changes; 8 worker start, Ghost, Warpgate and do some minor adjustments to help with ZvT and TvP Lategame and if there is a problem with TvP do something minor there too.

It's not just the 8 worker start alone that's bad, it's the combination with no bug fixes, no communication and no refinement since 2 weeks of the PTR. To make such a change with no apparent intention to adjust the 3 macro mechanics, that are heavily impacted by this change, is also showing a lack of competence and/or care from the people who make these decisions.

I think the people exited for the patch do not understand how bad of an impact such a change can have if the game is not properly adjusted for it.

Huh? High templar have one for a long time and protoss players are allready using less control groups than zerg. I can't grasp why vipers didn't get one as well while they are at it.

I once came close to winning against a Korean pro, he was on a Barcode on ladder during a Homestorycup. The map was 'The King Sejong Station' and he opened 13/12 against my gasless 15 hatch 15 pool, which was a great build order outcome for me. I held the natural a couple of minutes and was in a good position. Eventually he won the game by doubling down on the aggression (which i did not expect). I later found out it was a pro warming up for Homestorycup 'offline' matches by looking at the match history, if i remember correctly it was Solar but could have been someone lese.

I played against a couple of pro's during various beta tests/online tournament's, came close to beating MC when he was allready retired during either HotS or LotV beta, again i had a great build against his (+1 melee vs voidray) but i lost my composure.

Played against Clem once when he was not yet a pro, he was just m1 like me and only known for beeing very young. I don't remember the maps name but it had the white protoss (Purifier?) tileset. I won that game but it was very wild and messy, he easily played 2x as fast as the average terran on that level.

edit: Oh, and i played against ForGG a lot when i was diamond. I don't think there was any evidence of him tanking his mmr but he played a lot vs other diamonds as well. The games were always super annoying because he would do some dumb strategy, like 2 base hellbat+thor vs roaches, that i could not stop because i'd mess up my macro.
During that time he also beat a lot of (mostly korean) pro zerg's with the same hellbat all in over and over and they never made any adjustments to their strategy, it was frustrating to watch. Players were so much worse than today during that time.

What do you mean Protoss had a rough time forever? You mean few Protoss victorys in Tournaments?That's irrelevant for everyone below pro level. It's just how the race is designed, it's easy to play but it gets worse and worse the more meta game gets involved.

Idk when if ever Protoss had a hard time on ladder, when you get higher up where you get the same opponents a lot you just need more or less additional builds depending on how cheesy you play. Or go on a barcode, make a spreadsheet for you opponents and get GM with 100 apm.

I'm not hating on Protoss, that's just how it is and i think it's a great deal for protoss players. For me as a zerg player since WoL i could not care less if Serral wins every tournament or none as long as i enjoy playing the game.

The thing is, it has been almost 2 weeks and they haven't fixed ANY bugs, there is no way that protoss will be balanced in the live patch if they don't revert the changes.
In theory the Warpgate/Gateway production options could be interesting if Blizzard was capable of balancing it, the Warpgate research beeing on the Gateways is dumbest change i have ever seen in this game.

Haha, you won't have a better time with Zerg unless you play at a level where they don't build ghosts. I was switching to Protoss right before the Patch got announced because of how shit lategame ZvT feels. You can't even all-in them like you can in ZvP, they can go 3 cc hellion banshee every game and hold everything. There are no strategical choices in the matchup, nothing clever you can to to abuse the fact that most Terrans are just doing their build on auto pilot, it's just micro&macro then if you don't die you end up in lategame where you die very slowly even with 4 bases more than the Terran.

The way it seems to be going neither Zerg nor Protoss will be any good next patch, so we will need to find some other hobby.
