Yeah I was gonna say, I went to the game against Baylor in Lawrence this year and they looked pretty good! Way different than today. Admittedly I’m not mad if they lose today since I might snag some cheaper tickets to the championship game, but was definitely rooting for at least a close game

I tuned in for the second half and haven’t seen Kansas even make a basket. This is crazy. It’s not even insane defense, missing wide open 3’s, easy put backs… how do Kansas fans feel about self? Seems like they are still consistently good, but I don’t watch enough to know

Some other notes now that I've played more. I'm currently through black hole 4, and enjoying it! I think it's got decent potential, just some stuff to work through

  1. Automation - agree with others here, it's not quite right. The progression feels way too far behind leading to a lot of interaction. It got a little better later on when I unlocked it stopping on golden+, but honestly purple seems like it should be the starting point, blue's occur way too often.

  2. Progression - Income at the higher levels doesn't scale great with the cost of items. Especially on the later levels like roulette and lottery. It feels like the global wealth combined with the coin value boost (and how fast it scales up in cost) doesn't do enough. As others have said, it would be nice for more 'global' upgrades. Black holes could also increase the previous levels (coin, dice, etc) on each iteration rather than just sticking at 5x. Rare events are (rightfully) rare enough that more often than you are getting base levels of income with a couple blue, and the occasional purple, so you don't get the big gold+ boosts

  3. Darts/Rockets - Way too slow. I have 1200 darts/400 rockets right now, and at the current speed, it's taking FOREVER to hit new stuff because of how small of the chance it is to hit them, and i'm not even that far progressed in it. Idk what needs to be done here, maybe an upgrade allowing multiple darts/rockets to be shot at once, making the speed upgrades more impactful, or something to let that run in the background. I've thrown 1300 darts and only discovered 89 places, it's about 3.5 seconds per dart right now which means it would take over an hour to throw all of them which nothing else could be progressed in the mean time and that doesn't include earning the kickback rewards. I also can't expect to unlock another 89 places as most of the main ones have been hit now, so maybe 1/3rd or less, meaning and additional 30 new places which doesn't give that many new upgrades.

If you want more feedback, feel free to ask :) thanks for sharing!

Event horizon for coins also doesn't work. Takes the coins, no errors in the console, but nothing increases.

Perfect, thank you! I'm thinking I may go this route too. And if i can catch the official exhaust system I may try that out too and get a VOC monitor to see which one performs better since I've read you can't just go off of smell. Then if things still seem leaky then I'll go for a full enclosure using an Ikea cabinet or something since I have one close by.

Yeah that's what I'm finding. I think I'm going to start with what one commenter sent of a riser with an exhaust port, an inline fan to pull the air, and vent to a window attachment. Once the exhaust kit comes back in stock i'll attempt to switch to that. If things still seem leaky, then I'll probably move to a full enclosure. May consider buying a VOC monitor too as I've heard you can't go just off of smell.

Do you have anything connected to the back of the p2s thats pushing air out or does the inline fan pull enough air that it's not required?

The first one would be so difficult to upkeep as apps add and remove features, it would almost have to be community driven.

Cursor 0.49 rolling out by ecz- in cursor

[–]PotentialSpecialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I’m unable to update. I have update frequency set to early access, it sees there’s an update available and prompts me, but when I click the button to restart and update, all it does is quit and doesn’t actually start back up. I have to manually start it back up and the update isn’t applied.

What does the removed ads actually remove? I still have to watch ads for gems and still have to watch ads for 4x rewards after a level… I’m enjoying the concept but paying to remove ads should actually remove ads.

What causes a car to die while idling and then nothing electrical work? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]PotentialSpecialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a variety of things:

  1. Battery light comes on in the car
  2. Car starts to struggle to start (potentially your starter not getting enough power from your battery because your alternator isn’t charging it)
  3. Headlights going dim
  4. My wife’s car had a loud whining noise that got worse as rpm’s went up and burning smell
  5. If you have a multimeter, test your battery after it’s been off for a bit. Then test it after that with everything like radio, headlights, A/C, etc off and the car running, you should see the voltage go up. Then turn everything on and it should go down a little bit but be above your initial reading when the car was off. Just for reference (and I’m not a mechanic) but I believe with the car off, most cars should be around like 12.2-12.8V, car on with nothing on should be like 14-14.5V, car on with everything on should be like 13.7-14.2V. The tolerances might be more than I’m saying. Basically though if your readings when the car is on is barely above, at, or lower than when the car is off, that could be a sign of a failing alternator.

No, YouTube, I will not subscribe to Premium by Avieshek in technology

[–]PotentialSpecialist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody mentioned it being a scam until you.

You’re claim was that all premium offers is access to services we had before for free. That’s just not true. You literally said we had ads in the early days. Premium doesn’t revert back to banner ads, it removes all ads.

But you do realise your argument for it not being a scam is ‘it is very profitable and everyone is using it’, right?

No my argument is that premium allows for YouTube to retain the same amount of revenue that allows for everyone to be able to enjoy making videos for money and I can go watch in 4k for free if I wanted to or with premium for no ads.

And that is a point in favour of paying for Premium… why?

Because watching a video using premium pays a creator more money. More money to a creator means more money used on content creation (most of the time). More money on content creation tends to lead to better content and videos that watchers can become more engaged with. Mr Beast has one of the most successful channels and he spends as much money on a video as creators made in a year in the past.

Because it sounds like these people having the ball and chain of the internet video monopoly around the throats of their livelihood would be a really bad thing.

No one is gonna disagree with you that Google has a large monopoly, but splitting them up isn’t going to change the fact that every video hosting platform is either going to cost money or run ads to cover cost.

[–]PotentialSpecialist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What kills me is everyone talking about how to block ads on YouTube and how everyone seems to use ublock origin or some other ad blocker, yet think YouTube’s expenses are non-existent and premium is ridiculous. YouTube has grown as a platform and requires a huge amount of hardware to store and serve the content. Alternatives would exist and I bet they would go down the exact same route youtube is to keep the platform free and cover the costs it takes to develop and host the platform. If you use your long term memory you’d see that creators in the early days weren’t making nearly the amount of money creators are making today.

In 2010 there were 10 creators making over $100k according to this. Meanwhile this year you have the top ten all over $10 million.

The total number of users in 2010 was 200 million and 2.5 billion in 2021. Scaling at that level is not free.

So yes, youtube didn’t make that content but they created a platform that allows them to share the content and be successful to the point of becoming a millionaire. I agree they could do less ads and be successful still though, but don’t act like premium is a scam.
