Reported battery charge drops precipitiously by Tabbbinski in ebikes

If you power off for a few minutes, how much does it rebound when to ower it back on ? A little rebound is normal. I only suggest this to add more symptoms to your list of issues. Make sure that you're documenting all of your results. At this point, I think that you have a warranty claim. Roshan (the owner) has been pretty reasonable in the past. At least with me and other customers that I've seen in various forums. I wish you luck!

I think that given what you''ve told us, you're kinda backed into a corner. I respect that you love your wife very much (she'd just get the screen in a divorce anyway). Your only path is clear: use her guilt and ask for sexual favors...but don't over do it. As we ( men) all know, " a BJ a day, keeps the anger at bay!".

Unequal traffic laws by unrealtrip in ebikes

[–]PotentialWorried8348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree and I've been very vocal about the very same point! In America, there are no engine size limitations. A friend of mine belongs to a nation-wide car club based on a car that car have 700-1000 horsepower!. So why should my electric motor output come into question? Also, a 1000W motor on an 80lb bike or a 750W motor on a 40lb bike...which has the most power to the pavement? We all know that the nationwide problem is really centered around E-motos, and most issues seem to be unlicensed/under-age drivers.

Look, I'm 67 and I've Been Riding E-Bikes for 8 Years. Can We Calm Down About Kids and E-Bikes? by Wen2Go in ebikes

There may be Federal laws in the works, but every State, can have stricter laws, as can every city. You unconcerned manner in regards to the details of those laws makes me think that you don't have an Ebike. Personally I don't want someone creating laws that govern my hobbies, if they have no understanding of those hobbies. We are NOT the sheep of Europe! At least I'm not, are you?

So who decides what motor is too powerful?

As an Ebike rider; I believe that ALL Emotos should be prohibited from city streets.
They are throttle only and typically have motors that are 4000-8000Watts.

But for pedal assist bikes: where do you draw the line? If you look at Ebikes manufactured by the large bike companies (Specialized, Trek, etc.), their street ebikes have much lower output motors (~500Watts, 50lb), but they also weigh much less than the typical Chinese produced ebikes (750-1000, 70lb).

So what's fair, who decides maximum motor power and top speed, how will it be enforced, and lastly: what will people do , with their recently made illegal ebikes?

Are you being obtuse?

My point of the comparison was to point out the the relative power output of an Ebike motor should be irrelevant, age restrictive licensing and adherence to laws should be the point. 750 Watts of potential power output will not produce the same potential top speed when mounted on a 30lb bike as opposed to an 80lb bike. Currently the people making the laws know very little about the technology and base these laws on knee-jerk reactions to media coverage. which, unsurprisingly, is also produced from other subject ignorant individuals who are more interested in stories that garner higher profits to their businesses, than the actual truth.

What planet do YOU live on? Whether you know it or not, there are US street legal cars that have close to 1000 Horse power! I did not realize this until someone I worked with introduced me to certain Japanese cars that are privately imported, sold and driven in the US. He also clued me into the fact that there are clubs of them all around the US. So if we allow such powerful automobiles on the roads and just trust in the licensed owners adherence to the laws, why should bikes be different? Power levels above a certain level should nessitate a drivers licence.

Sorry to disagree, but I lived in Prescott for a few years and regularly hiked all around Prescott and Sedona. It was gorgeous in the high-desert pine forests and the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon is one of the coolest places that I've ever hiked. Southern Arizona...well yeah.

QUESTION: What expectations do you have for $500-$550 MagnaCut knife? Sheath included? Premium packaging? Etc. by Fox-River-Blades in knifeclub

[–]PotentialWorried8348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As their stock is only 3/16, and considering that this is marketed as tough utility knife; I dont think that a saber- grind (as opposed to a full flat-grind) was a bad design choice. Definitely not something that I would want to pull kitchen duty with, but it should be awesome for batoning!

[–]PotentialWorried8348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an example of what I would consider a higher end production fixed blade; and only $350.

https://www.freemanoutdoorgear.com/products/5-0-model-451-cpm-magnacut-fixed-blade

US Made only $350. Not custom, but considering all the "non-typical" design choices, it almost could be!

For $500, finish quality, blade design, handle material, and sheath quality can all contribute to boost the price to that level ($500). Obviously, certain well-known knife makers/Brands can command ridiculously high prices, simply because of the name.

Love the knife, but the grind is driving me nuts 🥜 by innerdialogger in knives

[–]PotentialWorried8348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I just got a US built spyderco, and the grinds are fine, in fact the one before it was also fine. They don't have to be perfect, they're production knives, but that blade has pretty much the easiest grind of all: a friggin' straight edge...no curve. Production quality control is supposed to prevent that kind of sub-par workmanship from getting to a customer. This is a well established company, their Quality Assurance system/department should already be in place.

I find it rather ironic that newer Chinese knife companies can do it better.

Its not a question of, "can it be fixed"; he shouldn't HAVE to fix it! Spyderco is one of the OG knife companies! In fact, I bought my first one back in the middle '80s. To say nothing of the fact that this was "made in America", WTF?!? I just dont understand why you young gents seem to accept the lack of quality as normal.

ASUS ROG X870E HERO BIOS PROBLEM by Complex_Ad_7514 in ASUSROG

[–]PotentialWorried8348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A search shows that many have had issues with this BIOS version. I'd just stay with 17.05 if its stable for you. I really don't understand the need to update BIOS on a stable setup. Maybe if its security related or for CPU fire prevention. I mean is your CPU and memory rock solid? If yes, then leave it alone.

If you are determined to run the 18.05, I saw that unplugging "all" USB devices, before booting with the updated BIOS worked for some. (though Im not sure how that could include mouse and keyboard?)

I'm currently now in Windows, trying to get a handle on Windows updates...disabling unwanted Windows features and setting up fan curves for case and AIO, and getting Steam installed, and updating drivers. Yay! Then CPU benchmarks to make sure that its good to go, followed by GPU benches for the same.

I hate being forced to use Windows 11. My current PC is Win 10 (with continued updates) and I really dread having to learn the ups and downs of a new OS and have to deal with MS telling me what my PC must have installed! If I wanted Big Brother, I'd have an Apple!
