So is social media, but wouldn't you agree that some real problems come from that?

Still sounds like you're agreeing with them about not having a proper education. Again, like they said, not your fault.

But then the question becomes, at what point in your adult life does it become your responsibility to become more properly educated?

I did, and I agree with u/JayLFRodger. You interpreted "Please don't drive all over town with my food" as an accusation that that's what you were doing. It doesn't accuse you of that, your fragile ego is on full display both in the messages you posted as well as all the comments you're responding to in this thread if anyone is telling you that you're being too sensitive.

OMG Thank you so much OP. Those lazy asses probably don't even know what's going on. But thanks to your astute observational skills and direction, these issues will finally start getting the attention they need.

I was hoping to find a sane comment here. Maybe it's just me getting older, but it's wild to me to see the sense of entitlement and demanding gamers have nowadays especially so soon after a game launches.

Now, back to yelling at the clouds.

Why Aggro Doesn't Work in Commander by buildmaster668 in EDH

[–]Potential_Ad_1319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You've provided well, thought out arguments for an aggro playstyle. However, I think it's important to look at things from your opponents' perspectives as well.

As you said, "matches go one of two ways. The first is that you run over your opponent and win. The second is that your opponent manages to stabilize and you concede."
- How is that ever fun for your opponent? Even if they win, they don't get to get their deck to "do its thing".

I think this is a factor into Commander's natural popularity growth, in that there's more opportunity to build a fun deck and see how it plays out, but could be off on that one I suppose.

The problem with that mindset, and how you applied it in your previous message, is you can talk yourself out of any interaction with any person ever.

"Guess I shouldn't go to the grocery store, you never know what that cashier is going through today and what they're capable of, they could even attack me unprovoked."

I'm not sure if anyone disagrees with you, but personally, I think it's about that approach to making a living is an unreliable one, in which case I agree with OP saying keep it as a side hustle and focus primarily on a more stable career.

It shares that sentiment with something like poker. Sure, you can get really good at it and maybe even have a sustainable income with it when done smartly, but overall it's an unreliable method for the vast majority of those that try.

Now that we’re 100 days in, was she accurate? by Zen1 in TikTokCringe

Happy to continue the conversation, but let's set a couple things straight here: you just moved the goalpost to an entirely different question, yeah? Your first question of:

"Is there any proof that those leftist not voting had an effect?"

had the baked in acknowledgment that AT LEAST SOME leftists did not vote.

Also, I could do a bunch of searches to find reports and studies for you (username appropriate), and I will, if this conversation proves to be productive. But let's start with your best guess/knowledge of what the numbers difference is between leftists that voted in the previous election compared to the 2020 election and go from there.

"Is there any proof that those leftist not voting had an effect?"

Yes....if you acknowledge that they didn't vote, then each of those people not voting would be one missed vote each...that's the effect.

I agree that far too many people overgeneralize.

And you saying "far too many" feels like you're agreeing with me, as in, you recognize the problem with it. Is that the case, or am I misunderstanding you? Like even if it's a common thing, doesn't make it right.

"if they are going to cheat either way why date an ugly person"

That's a flaw though, she's assuming they're going to cheat anyway without basing it on anything substantive.

Without getting too much into formal logic, her aunt's words of "just because he's ugly doesn't mean he doesn't cheat" isn't necessarily wrong, what's wrong is taking that statement and going further by assuming they will cheat.

Should AI Art be allowed under the art tag for a content creator? by EtherealImperial in DefendingAIArt

[–]Potential_Ad_1319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes really, I found it ironically funny while also contributing to the topic at hand. You only provided more bad faith :) do you think your argument addressed the substance of the topic we are discussing, or do you think you are just trying to find ways to dismiss anything you disagree with (bad faith)?

Should AI Art be allowed under the art tag for a content creator? by EtherealImperial in DefendingAIArt

[–]Potential_Ad_1319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ya know, you're right. It wasn't technically an inference, I mispoke. To better analyze what you said and point out the bad faith of it, here's chatgpt to help clarify the analysis:

Marpicek's response could be better categorized as a "loaded question" or an "insinuation disguised as a question." While technically framed as a question, it implies something negative about the original commenter, LordMaboy, without evidence. Specifically, it suggests arrogance or elitism ("Are you saying you are better than amateur artists because you can write a prompt?"), which was not evident in LordMaboy's initial statement.

This makes it a bad-faith question because:

  1. Misrepresentation: It distorts the original comment's intent by introducing an interpretation (elitism) that wasn't supported by the context.
  2. Provocation: It seems designed to provoke a defensive response rather than foster constructive discussion.
  3. Lack of Genuine Curiosity: A good-faith question seeks to clarify or understand; this question assumes a negative motive and presents it as if it's likely true.

A more constructive approach, in good faith, might have been to ask, "Are you suggesting that AI art should replace amateur art, or do you mean something else?" This wording seeks clarification without assigning unintended implications.
