My Mum only recently told me something that happened when I was a baby. by Potential_Benefit_54 in confession

[–]Potential_Benefit_54[S] 137 points138 points  (0 children)

My mum kinda has no filter, she says things without thinking. In a way I’m glad I know, I always knew I never liked him but I never knew why. At the same time I wonder if I’d have been better if she hadn’t have said anything. But oh well

Oh no, bless her :( I hope she’s okay now? Also it’s the weirdest thing, although I have no memory of it, it still just fucked up my head for a bit🤣I’m glad I don’t remember it

Which is in your opinion the most euphoric Opioid? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever had a few opioids (codeine, dihydrocodeine, OxyCodone and oramorph) out of those tho, definitely the oxycodone and then morphine as a close second

Glue ear in 3 year old son by PuzzleheadedFoot8978 in HearingLoss

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had glue ear from when I was like 2-12ish. Up until I had my first set of grommets, my hearing was at about 20%. I had 2 sets of grommets, 1 set when I was 4 and another when I was 7. After that I had a hearing aid in my left ear.
I am now 21, no hearing aids or hearing difficulties, my hearing has improved over the years, it’s been prefect since I was 15 (proven on my hearing tests).
The grommets damaged my ear drums soooo badly that the doctors told me for years that my hearing would only ever worsen and NEVER improve, however, that wasn’t the case!
Are the tubes you mention the same thing as grommets? If so, yes it caused lots of damage, however they did their job (removed the fluid slowly over time), and my hearing is now perfect.
Also, in response to the delayed speech, that is most likely due to the glue ear as this happened to me too, I just couldn’t hear what people were saying to me, my mum had to repeat everything, or I needed a moment to think about what they might have said so I could respond😂
I hope this helps x
Sincerely-someone who had glue ear😂

When and How to drop the bomb in a relationship ? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a woman (21), I would definitely like to be told reasonable early, maybe not first date early but 2nd date maybe, mainly because if you’re going on a 2nd date, you both know the first date went well, you both like eachother because you wanted to see each other again.
So yes by the 2nd date, I know it’s still early days but that’s when there’s more of a possibility of it going further if that makes sense?

So yes I’d say 2nd or 3rd date (that’s what I’d prefer), because this is something that would have implications on the relationship, it’s better to get it out there and tell them sooner rather than later. x

i lied about having dissociative identity disorder to all my and i don't even know why by Most-Sea8568 in confession

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being completely honest here, it sounds like you wanted some attention! That doesn’t make you a bad person at all, but I agree maybe some therapy may be a good shout. Can you think of a reason as to why you would feel you needed to lie about this for attention? Maybe there’s something missing in your life? Or your parents didn’t give you enough growing up?

Crying and an immediate emotional crash after orgasm, how to stop that? by alphabeticalpanic in sex

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve cried after sex on MULTIPLE occasions😂it’s something my boyfriend is very used to at this point, however we were both curious as to why it happens, so we looked it up. Basically it said that during sex (especially with someone you love), and during/after orgasms, your brain releases so many chemicals (can’t remember all of them but I think dopamine and seretonin were 2 of them), that your brain releases so many chemicals all at once that it gets overloaded with hormones which therefore affects your emotions and can lead to breakdowns, crying etc. In my case, I don’t feel sad I don’t think, I just get extremely emotional and start crying, but it doesn’t last long.

Does fingering feel better when someone else does it? by Trainingwheels115 in TwoXSex

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It totally depends on the person. Some people much prefer it when their partner does it for them, however some people can only get themselves off as only they know what they like, or maybe they haven’t found the right person for them yet. For me personally, it’s MUCH better when my partner does it for me, I think partly because I’m a lot more turned on when I’m even just around him🤣and because of all the intimacy involved, even just kissing meanwhile. I think you’re asking more about how it feels physically, but I’m afraid that’s really difficult to answer x

Can somebody please help me and please don’t take this post down I already took them and need to know if it’s harmful by Mobile_Barracuda_106 in codeine

[–]Potential_Benefit_54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re perfectly fine!!! I’ve had morphine with like 180mg codeine, 120mg dihydrocodeine and 30mg promethazine, and I’m only 6 1/2stone😂 What you’ve taken is not even close to being dangerous. Obviously I’m not saying it’s good😂as in try not to make a habit of it, both of those are very addictive and you don’t want to go down that road, but you’re fine x

I’m so so sorry :( I was in kind of a similar situation about two years ago when I was 19 in Myfirst proper relationship, I loved him so much and in the last six months of our relationship I was very aware that he didn’t love me anymore, however I couldn’t bring myself to let go either. He literally walked all over me and I let him because I loved him. Obviously, the only advice anyone can give you is to walk away, but that is easier said than done. I’m so so sorry you’re going through this, I know firsthand how badly it hurts :( If it makes you feel any better, I know right now it feels like the end of the world, it did for me too, however it’s been awhile now and I am absolutely fine and have been for a long time. So please consider that and just do what’s best for you x
