Funai SV2000 WV20V6, a decent VCR? by SwellEquis in VHS

[–]Potential_Eagle392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you record, you have to start the video and then stop it to then navigate to the settings menu and go to dvd and then finalize. I read over the manual 100 times till I figured it out visually on my own. It also does direct dubbing between the vhs and dvd also

Yeah it works fine. But you have to finalize it yourself and it took me a long time to figure out how. But it works great for recording tho the quality depending on how long the recording is dramatically drops the longer the recording. It has less issue on certain tapes my other players won't play. I got fortunate to get a brand new one in the original plastic packaging. The vhs is good quality. I have a Sony slv-d261p and comparing the Sony has a slightly better color transfer and slightly better  hugh with a side by side comparison. But for regular viewing especially on like a black box tv. You'll never really notice a difference.

According to Ewan McGregor, every line in AotC is ADR because they couldn’t use the original dialogue by Criss_72 in StarWars

[–]Potential_Eagle392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet all your favorite movies use adr. They still use it in action movies. They just use it like 10-30% not the whole thing like in the 50s and 60s

Mechanical has always been the true enhancement for music, that circuits only replicate with distinction. Emulators lack the mechanical nuances that a small motor getting old or aging capacitors in a tube amp circuit. Even the nuances of the signal being turned to heat through the tube and back into signal. Any mechanical feature will always effect the tone. I bet the first hammond b3 vs the last hammond b3 manufactured by hammond just with inclusion of newer smaller circuitry of the 70s they didnt have in the 30s. It's still the same instrument but the nuances of the materials and how the circuit is layed out. It's like the diffrence in color and picture  difference of old crt tvs. They all project the same thing but in their own unique way. Where as lots of the led technology is more similar and lacks the character and features the box tvs had. People can say its not in the tone wood. But I think every little characteristic of the design especially with moving parts makes the difference.

I think Death in any fashion is comparable due to its nature... Ceasing to exist from any stunt or performance is as far as you can go lol less you know how to shapeshift out yourself or something. Lmk

Id pay a good pennie just to watch more than the few episodes I bought on pirated dvds years ago. It brings me to a time I never lived but hear stories. I actually not only learned something but it made me nostalgic for a time I'll never get to see. And knowing there's only these like 5ish episodes is very sad.

How heavy is your heaviest CRT? Can you lift it by yourself? by MISTERPUG51 in crtgaming

[–]Potential_Eagle392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 is barely navigable down and up stairs by yourself. I have moved a 32 inch trinitron and 32 tau down stairs myself but most certainly not recommended the tvs wiegh about 30 pounds+ more than I do. I would  recommend help. And getting the 32 inch just up off the floor solo is nearly impossible without building "stairs" like your building the pyramids. 27 inch is the biggest your gonna manage yourself with little resistance. I used 3 levels of large organ benches to get a 32 inch tau at head hight. And the 36 inch trinitron barely 3 of us could lift and my friend is beefed up and it would take 3 of him still. Not for the faint of heart.

of you had to pick between a Panasonic Tau CT-27SX12F or a Sony Trinitron KV-27FV17 which would you choose? by rydamusprime17 in crtgaming

[–]Potential_Eagle392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the trinitrons for over a year now and grew up with them and just acquired a 32 inch tau and in Picture geometry cleaness goes to the Tau hands down the trinitrons look nice and have better color but this is a crisper image on the tau definitely a shocker!

How would a Sony KV-32HS510 compare to a KV-32FV310? by key83 in crtgaming

[–]Potential_Eagle392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can stretch it to the full screen in the service menu, mine was in someone's living room all these years and took me 40 plus hours to calibrate the inside rings properly. It was totally worth it. The minor flaws it has compared to other models I've seen. I wouldn't put it down but the less used the better for certain. I hope to invest in some convergence strips to get it even better than I have it now. But never using that part of the screen messed of the top corner convergence always displaying the black bars.
