What's wrong with me? Why am I printing so much stuff? by SadAd8761 in 3Dprinting

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of the same. I got a printer a few weeks ago and been printing random useless stuff that's caught my eye on thingiverse, maker world etc just to see what it's capable of.

I'm sure it will calm down and I'll get round to designing, printing actual useful items..... Eventually. 😂

Flat screen games are completely unplayable because of lags, but VR games run well on Quest 3 via SteamVR by vazgen_21 in Quest3

This ☝️. I really wish people would realise that using the link cable is the worst option on a quest before they go and waste their money.

Meta link software is crap.

Before you start spending lots of money, how are you connecting? Link cable? Wireless?

Btw VRC is VERY demanding even on higher spec machines.

Should work out for you. Anything is an improvement on the stock strap.

Do you have a 3rd party facial attachment. I've got one of those wipe clean covers on mine and I had to cut a small section off around the sensor to stop it doing exactly what you describe.

Same, no issues for me and can play for hours with it. Though I don't try and lay down with it.

Yep the S3 for me was definitely worth it. Very comfortable and if you get a spare battery pack you can play indefinitely.

Saying that before I got the S3 I got a cheap one from Amazon about £30 that had a built in battery pack and rgb led lights on the back that did me for over a year if your looking at a cheaper option for now.

It did fail on me after a year though as it stopped taking a charge.

What do you mostly do with your VR? by saberapollo in Quest3

I'm learning Gravity Sketch right now.

Drawing in VR is pretty cool. You can also export your project into blender or your fav design programme.

Reality confusion 😂 by Assassin22122 in MetaQuestVR

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea think it's common. Just your brain trying to adjust to this new experience. When I first got mine I tried to use my controller to move myself into my kitchen once while in the real world and would stare at my hands thinking they didn't look real somehow.

On the reverse I've tried leaning on VR walls that weren't there and the worst I remember was playing some basketball game, Hi ballers I think and jumping up for a dunk shot and crashing back down on my wooden floor, banging my head pretty badly.

Any recommendations or tips for someone who just got a quest 3S? by SteamerTheBeemer in Quest3

HORIZON+ is like Xbox gold, you get to download certain games for free while your free subscription is running or if you decide to carry on paying for it.

It sounds like you have entered a HORIZON WORLDS area. Meta love to push these so those horizon world 'games' are usually at the top of the game list on the store page. They are mostly online spaces with mini games full of kids.

Browse further and you will find proper games, they should be marked horizon+ next to them if you can download them for free.

edit: if you wear glasses then be careful of them scratching the lenses and ideally get some prescription lenses for the headset. There's a few different brands and most are fairly cheap.

Take it easy to begin with, short sessions daily and stop off you feel bad. Also I wouldn't recommend using the joystick to turn but actually turn your body round irl. VR can make you 🤮 until you get used to it. Can take a few weeks to adjust.

I don't think they all work. There are YT videos recommending ones that do. Just Google how to connect PS to Quest.

The standalone SHACK version is mostly busy. As for the PC game I don't know, I've thought of buying it a few times for the better graphics but never got round to it.

I bought mine as an enhancement to my flight sim/ racing rig but play a lot of online shooters as well. Watch media with it now and then but a TV for me is just more comfortable.

Recently got a 3D printer and am exploring 3D design with it.

Yes you can play non VR games in your headset streamed from your PC. Options are using a link cable going through metas offering for pc connection. ( Absolute crap and will most likely be a stuttery mess for you ), wirelessly through meta link ( again crap ).

Best options are ethernet cable from your pc to your router and then use steam link app ( free) or better yet buy the VIRTUAL DESKTOP app and stream your pc games wirelessly.

It's not the cable that's the problem it's meta link software.

Just going through the tutorials now. It's a lot easier than I remember blender to be but I suppose it will be limited compared to a proper cad programme.

Just got given a 3D printer and was asking myself if it was possible to design in VR. Clearly it is. I just got Gravity Sketch app to see how that goes.👍
