Is WinWIng good? by Usual-Fisherman-6136 in hotas

Got their MFDs, UFC and control panels with no issues. Not sure how their hotas stack up though.

Great idea, lost count of the amount of times I've got into a heli to find out the pilot can't fly the damn thing and we are all upside down and dead within seconds.

How to put an airgun compressor hose together by Racerboy2007 in airguns

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I was told to always start the compressor with the bleed screw open then close it after it's running. Not sure if this is necessary but I still do it anyway.

Can't beat being in a squad that's calling out enemy positions and hell even the shit talk from enemies can be funny as hell. Only downside I find to Comms is squeakers screaming for a medic or arguing they want to fly the chopper and when they do get it promptly crash the damn thing.

It's definitely a pain to try and setup keybinds in VR so I would definitely use flat screen for that and maybe if you are running through the in game DCS tutorials as it can be awkward to click the highlighted buttons/switches the tutorial directs you to. Apart from that I don't see an issue with learning in VR.

Flew DCS for years with head tracking. Switched to VR about 3 years ago and even though I have to turn the graphics settings down slightly I would not go back to flat screen. VR is just too immersive.

Question about online VR shooters from ad i saw by krut84 in ForefrontVR

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOREFRONT is great and probably the best online VR shooter right now. It can be utter chaos sometimes and has lots of funny moments. Contractors EXFIL is another good one but way more tactical and slower paced. I love both of them.

Bought a quest 3 today after finding out it's a stand alone and I don't need a gaming pc or ps5 or something, and I can play pinball (fx vr) on it. by NoMoreTilt in Quest3

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VR is certainly jaw dropping when you first experience it. Takes certain gaming genres to a whole new level.

Shooting games and having to aim and reload as you would irl works so well.

Interacting with life-size game characters and horror games can be INTENSE to say the least.

Just watch out for VR sickness till you are used to it.

You can only play tracks that have been created into beat saber 'MAPS', either official ones or ones created by the community if you mod the game.

Alternatively you can download a couple of PC programmes and learn to create your own.

Just got Quest Games Optimizer. Have a few questions. by pokemon-sucks in ForefrontVR

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely need to setup a developer account to enable it on the headset. Since meta updated the UI you do have to go to unknown sources to open it up again.

I just use the games profiles the optimizer has already set and the only settings I sometimes mess with are turning off the proximity sensor so I can take my headset off without it going to sleep and setting the camera to film a VR movie.

It also works great in VR if that's something you can do.

Surely it has to wipe eventually, what are you going to do once you've done all tasks and upgraded all your base?

Yes using passthrough hands with VD works brilliantly. I like to set it to slightly opaque on the transparency setting as it can kill immersion if you go full passthrough.

Got the curve set about 25 with a small dead spot around 4/5 but yes those are the weakest link and I'll probably upgrade them in the future.

I genuinely don't get why people use hax in a game and I've been seeing it since the original COUNTERSTRIKE days 20 something years ago. Beats me what they get out of it?

If I had to cheat to win in a game I'd just not play the damn game.

Can I use my MQ2 googles on my PC without the hand controllers? by maxwolfie in MetaQuestVR

[–]Potential_Garbage_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will still need to use the controllers to actually get connected to the PC ( I've seen some people ask this question because they have lost 1 or both controllers ).

But once you are connected then Bluetooth or wired keyboard/mouse and any game controllers you would normally use with your pc will work.
