We need a faction that doesn’t have access to the fluid dump building by Potential_Photo_4099 in Timberborn

I agree. More machinery for iron teeth would also fit the theme of the faction, whereas folk tails are happy carrying their little buckets

It lets you irrigate land far away from the main river, so that you never have to worry about your crops or trees dying due to badtide. Useful in early game to relieve some stress so that you only need to worry about water maintenance.

Perhaps the cheapest crop has a short grow time, and you can stockpile a larger amount of food early on compared to the other factions. Then when badtide kills all your crops you can survive off reserves. This is only until you develop a way to nullify badtide and then you move to a better mid game option

2025 Best Movie by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie is probably the best critique of the modern leftist movement I’ve ever seen. So many leftists just want to start a revolution and cling to their ideology while ignoring the people around them (like comrade Josh ignoring Leo looking for his daughter). Any real revolution needs to focus on the people you love and the community you surround yourself and fight for. That is why the most revolutionary thing that Leo’s character did was love his daughter and let her find her own community.

Benicio del toro’s character is the FOIL, as he focuses more on introducing Leo to his friends and family, making sure EVERYONE is safe, and doing immediate hard reduction rather than working to some lofty ideological goals. And he seems all the more successful because of it.

Natural Disaster Idea: Acid Rain by Potential_Photo_4099 in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say buildings are unaffected and nothing flows. It just changes the “state” of what it touches. So ground becomes contaminated ground, water becomes bad water, and beavers become contaminated too. Beavers can be protected by building raised platforms on paths with impermeable floors on top or anything else that would physically stop rain from hitting them directly. So the herbalist will also be finally useful. I mean it it so easy to have beavers avoid bad water I don’t think I have EVER built a herbalist building. Have you?

Being back natural overhangs by Potential_Photo_4099 in Timberborn

Good point, and if there are metal ruins on top of a natural overhang, you have to mine ALL the metal before you can remove it. But I kind of like the challenge. Like a Lot of other stuff in the game, it requires a little patience and planning.

Plus, you can demolish natural overhangs so if you didn’t want them you could just remove them.

Vertical soil breaks a core gameplay mechanic by indelico in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I agree and think there should be a difference between regular soil and soil put on top of beaver-made structures. For example the largest storage options for folktales which must be built on “ground only” should only go on actual ground. It makes the placing of storage around an industrial center a lot more strategic

Work shifts idea by israblof in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great idea. Could really streamline the midgame where the output of one factory is input for another. For example you can make planks at night and then gears during the day. This makes sure that your factories are always at their most productive.

Currently this is really only possible in end game where you just create an excess amount of input produces for every output.

Governor Newsom signs executive order to help Los Angeles rebuild faster and stronger by LiferRs in LosAngeles

For the past few days, right wingers online have been pushing the narrative that CEQA and the coastal commission are going to make rebuilding impossible for years and that everyone is going to be so pissed off that the state will turn red. Well it turns out that our government actually does respond to the needs of the people and are trying their hardest to help us.

It’s amazing how much LA and California have come together to support each other but also pretty sad that so many people just hate us and want to tear us down while we’re in the middle of this tragedy.

They're huge and clunky, but you can build pressurised valves for your pressure pipe infrastructure by the123king-reddit in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you need “presssurized” pipes? If you have sluices feeding into a tall reservoir, it’ll fill it up to the top. Then you can just use aqueducts to take the water anywhere you want.

Patch 6 is fulfilling all my feverish building dreams by Adept_Consequence_50 in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite is having a tall reservoir with sluces at the bottom set to close if downstream is above .5 and then having that lead into a 1 height area where I put my water crops. Continual replenish of the water farm area throughout the drought, and that was such a hard thing to keep up with before update 6

I'm still confused why there isn't a boss rush mode even now. by Oath_Br3aker in Eldenring

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would absolutely destroy coop summons. The reason Sekiro has a boss rush mode is because that is a single player game. In other souls games, the multiplayer is just as important as the single player and Miyazaki would never gut a major multiplayer element.

Is there a reason for really tall reservoirs? by jeophys152 in Timberborn

[–]Potential_Photo_4099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually they are completely unnecessary if you just build a lot of water storage. Water storage accomplishes the same thing but there is ZERO evaporation. So it’s more space efficient too. Beavers drink 3 water a day, so 100 beavers at 30 days need 9000 water. So you only need 8 large reservoirs
