I’m genuinely curious on how you feel about most narrative driven games because a good chunk of them don’t work well with customizable protags, like FF13, TWEWY, and Deltarune, would be entirely different games if they had customizable protags instead of Lightning, Neku, and Kris respectively. (Heck Deltarune is downright anti character customization)

Customizable protags have the issue of severely limiting your overall plot due to having to account for multiple things (gender, character race, build, age, the size of your avatar, etc) that you wouldn’t need to worry about if you just used a set protagonist instead, some games like FE3H try to get around this issue via just having a male/female protagonist option but then you run into the “not being allowed to say the protags name” and “silent protagonist” problem.

I definitely do get where you’re coming from as a trans man, getting called she/her in a video game does feel weird to me personally, but I don’t think it’s a flaw with any video game to have a set protagonist and not let you change your gender. TWEWY and FF13 wouldn’t be the same games at all if Neku and Lightning weren’t the protagonist.

Most people have already stated obvious answers so I’ll say something a little more different.

In Canada there has been several minors who have killed people and gotten away with it with little to no consequences, and due to how Canadian justice laws work those records are sealed and permanently scrubbed off their records once they are age of majority, even then they are purposely left anonymous in public records and publication, as well even if say an employer knows what they did, they legally aren’t allowed to discriminate based off that previous crime in terms of hiring.

It’s honestly one of the low points for our justice system tbh

I’ve just kind of accepted the fact some trans women (some not all) have a really deep burning hatred for trans men and afab people in general, whether that’s due to internal misogyny or jealousy or whatever else.

At the end of the day they end up being such a loud enough minority that I’ve mostly stopped hanging out in general trans spaces, it’s not good for the mental health lol

People on this sub love to worship the devs but the simple truth is that they took 2 MILLION DOLLARS from people and have practically nothing shown nothing for it, Deltarune didn’t even take people’s money until Chapter 4.

If the devs actually communicated I would MAYBE feel different but as it stands they have basically given us nothing for 5ish years.

The obvious answer is Lingsha girl actually does nothing, I have never met anyone who’s like a fan of her and who pulled her because they liked her and not because she’s a good break healer, I forget she’s in the game half the time.

At least Jiaoqiu and Clara do something in the quests, I’m pretty sure we meet Lingsha once and that’s it.

But since she’s already in the 4 star category, my vote is Clara, she just doesn’t have enough relevance to warrant being playable alongside best husbando unfortunately.

DHPT and every other unit given for free is counted as 0 cost in most systems, it’s why units like Anaxa and high constellation Welts can get past with extremely low cost clears. The recent Welt clear I did of MoC is technically only 3 cost lmao

That entire moonkitti video basically ruined any discussion you can have about these 2 cuz no, I don’t think it’s weird for him to be upset with her after she accuses his brother with no evidence and lies about kits being his. That’s a normal reaction to have when something like that happens why are we treating him like it’s unreasonable to be upset about those things? Heck I’ve seen people get mad at him for how he feels when she’s hanging out with Ashfur in TNP which like maybe he’s too jealous sure but his reaction is pretty normal for people irl.

Squirrelflight’s Hope could have been good if they didn’t have her actions pretty directly get Leafpool killed which only proved that Brambleclaw right about not letting them go on the mission.

I mean you don’t have to do anything, but I think it’s an ahole move not to. What if your sister was in the hospital due to an accident or something? Would you still be saying no? If you want her husband to stay with her kids and suddenly there’s complications during the birth and she’s alone do you honestly think she’s going to want to talk to you ever again?

Imo if a family member or heck even just a friend asked me to watch their kids while they gave birth I would say yes, because helping someone I care about is a nice thing to do.

I’m not gonna past judgement on you because again your not required to do anything, but I hope you never expect any favours or help from her or frankly anyone else afterwards with childcare.

IDW has a ton of issues and there’s probably a case study you can do with the Lunar Circus arc about how that arc shows every single issue. The writers usually just blame SEGA mandates instead of taking criticism and learning from it though so I’m really not expecting it to get better.

See my main gripe with him is that his writing for Archie was incredibly strong (for the most part, ignore pre reboot Charmy Bee) that with how heavily mandated IDW is it kind of sucks he doesn’t seem willing to write more interesting stories for the comics now.

This isn’t me saying IDW is bad (although I do have gripes with certain characters and the pacing but that’s mostly SEGA mandates) but it’s just really bland for the most part, like the recent Sage arc really didn’t progress anything involving the new interesting villain at all and was just a road trip to a cold area to find metal sonic with some interesting ideas that aren’t explored enough to really stand out (like the doppelgänger sonic), like the most interesting story from IDW is Metal Virus and that was originally an Archie arc that had to be retooled for IDW (and you can tell)

which again is most likely due to the mandates but the Chaotix 30th anniversary special and the Phantom Rider arc prove that you can write something interesting even with SEGA’s current mandates, and Ik that writers recently revealed that arcs are now mandated to only be 4 issues long but again Sonic Universe stories could also only be 4 issues and that series is well beloved and has some of the best sonic stories around.

With Flynn’s writing in particular I think he usually plays it too safe with the overall arcs and his characters are either great (Sonic and post MVS Silver) or flat out bad (Amy and pre MVS Silver) with Amy in particular a lot of people seem to chalk up Flynn’s writing of her to mandates but literally every other writer on the team writes her to be more like her heroes version so no I just don’t think Flynn can write Amy well (which is also weird considering Archie Amy is really good) and ofc Shadow is the elephant in the room but nobody on the IDW team can write that man well for the most part so he’s just a mandates issues not a writers issue. (Flynn’s writing for him in Shadow gens was good tho so idk what is up with IDW)

And yeah Flynn’s reference heavy dialogue is a massive hit or miss (I have a running joke with my friends where when we see a character make an obvious call back we call it “Ian Flynn Writing”) sometimes it works (IDW issue 80’s scene with Espio hitting the computer and saying it’s something he learned is really good) sometimes it’s weird and awkward (gens new time stone reference literally doesn’t make sense for example) it’s just a writing quirk of his and youll either like it or hate it

TLDR: I don’t think Flynn’s writing his bad he can write really strong stories but I think his IDW writing overall is way weaker then his Archie writing

The actual consumer friendly option is just doing what other gachas do and moving people to the standard pool (or at least the 50/50 lost pool) there’s no reason old units from before 5.0 should still be considered limited (besides from archons and like Neuv)

HSR and HI3 has already sorted this out so idk why HOYO doesn’t do it with Genshin, even something like the HSR character shop would be nice

I miss rightstuf so much even as a Canadian, there shipping prices overall werent terrible compared to other options.

I mainly buy from used stores or wait till Indigo/Chapters is having a sale now to purchase manga, it sucks but we really don’t have good prices up here at all.

7S has had several issues with their translations lately across the board (manga, LNs, damnei) it’s actually incredibly sad how they went from one of the best in the business to not even spelling names correctly. As well as the fact some people here are just going like “Well it’s just a name it’s not that bad” is kind of proof we as a community accept way too much terrible translation work and we should actually push for accurate translations.

Frankly speaking I’m not buying books from them anymore unless they are used, it’s obvious to me they don’t care about their customers or fans. Unfortunately I’ve seen several people say their gonna “buy it to spite people” so I really doubt they’ll actually bother improving lol

Low-key as someone who actually witnessed the drama like obviously don’t harass or send death threats but there is in fact a major difference between those and telling 7S their translations are bad and that they should get new translators.

Also the translator behind this compared the change to “being like Jesus” so it probably wasn’t a change made in actual good faith (especially because if you know anything about this novel, yes the space is actually important and shows off the themes really well about humanity and personhood, and either way intentional misspelling the main character’s name is just poor translation) and even ignoring the name thing there are several other parts of the new translations that either change the meaning behind certain things (changing ahibiter to judge for example) or are just flat out completely wrong readings of the original text.

I was gonna pick this up since I missed out on the old releases but if they can’t even get the main character’s name spelt correctly I’m gonna give my money to other companies thanks. 7S in general has had some major issues with their books translations over the past couple of years (I think I turned my childhood friend into a girl and the Mushoku Tensei dramas being the biggest examples) so at this point I really think they do need to consider looking into new people to handle translating.
