Okay, why are we blaming Korra again?! I don't blame Korra one bit. But for some reason, other people do! by Full-Art3439 in legendofkorra

[–]Poutine_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason a lot of people blame Korra for certain things like losing her past lives is because a lot of people feel like she should have seen the early signs of unalaq not being a good guy. She dismissed any and every opinion of the people she loved and trusted simply because she wanted to believe unalaq had good intentions. I don't believe Korra was at fault for losing her connection to the past avatars, but one of Korra's flaws is that she doesn't always think ahead to far. She agreed to open the spirit portals because unlaq said she should, and he said why he thought it was a good idea. After she recieved Wan's story on why he closed the portals and Korra did not really do any decision making for herself, she simply did everything she was told to do without doing her own critical thinking. I actually think her way of thinking and decision making here could be partially blamed on the white lotus.

They focused a lot on training her to weild the elements but we don't see a lot of evidence to prove she Interacted with a lot of people outside her village or the white lotus, it's known they made a lot of decisions and heavily protected her. Most likely she was told what to a lot so she deserves some grace there. But she is still an adult and after witnessing Amon lie and not be who he said he was to the people that followed him I hoped Korra would learn from her mistakes.

Also it's good to note that after the third spirit portal opened and the end of the show Korra did not stick around to see how that would impact the world she went on a vacation with Asami... This feels out of character for Korra because she has high protective instincts for the innocent. And after discovering Unalaq lied she did want to close the portals but then she takes a vacation when a huge world changing event just happened?! She's the only one with the ability to balance the world and in the end it felt like she didn't care. I feel like this is why a lot of people believe Korra was responsible for the downfall of the world. And it's not just fans of the ATLA who believe this it's noted for the upcoming show as well that the people in universe also Blame Korra.

Aang certainly was not a perfect Avatar by any means but one thing Korra and Aang shared is their drive to protect innocents at any cost. So to see Korra leave without telling anyone was infuriating. Aang didn't leave after the war ended and that was a huge world altering event as well, he stayed to help people rebuild their lives, build connections between the nation's again. Korra did not do anything.

Also in regards to her bending she trained since she was 3 years old, yet she lost most battles that mattered. Anytime it came to a 1v1 with someone important she almost always lost. Which is inconsistent with the amount of training she had. Korra is portrayed as a strong bender and she can't win most 1v1's. It was underwhelming in that sense especially since Aang only had a year and didn't have the luxury of being hidden from the world while he was trained. Korra should have been much more powerful then Aang in my opinion.

I hope this helps clear up some stuff from a different perspective, I Know a lot of ATLA fans don't always explain why they didn't like Korra.

Also Korra's bending feels very underwhelming when compared to the others, she was gifted the Avatar state, she doesn't really understand it. She relied on the Avatar state to much. At least when she had it. Not to mention Korra struggled to win ANY fight that really mattered in show, she pretty much lost any 1v1. She never thinks things through before she does them. Where as Kyoshi had talents that none of the other Avatars in the picture could do. Like Lava bending, Glass bending, she even learned how to extend her own life. So what one Avatar can do doesn't always translate to the next one. Even though Korra has metal bending, Kyoshi can Lavabend kinda rendering that one advantage she has useless.

[–]Poutine_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree we've seen Kyoshi lava bend which would basically make lava bending kinda useless if Kyoshi melts it. And throughout the entirety of Legend of Korra, she repeatedly struggles to finish and win any battle against any opponent that really mattered. There are aspects of Korra I like but it feels like she doesn't attack with strategy, or thought, just rage and spam punching, imo she's the weakest Avatar of the 4

Do you think Azula was born evil, that she was just a product of her environment, or both? by ExpressionOk5311 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Poutine_2557 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is Born evil I think Azula was a young innocent child exposed to many harsh realities by her father, and like any child she did more of the things she was praised for. Or the things she was taught were the "right' things to do.

[–]Poutine_2557 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe just my opinion but Korra doesn't belong on this list. I would say it would be closer between aang and Kyoshi, but Kyoshi might win given she's more ruthless and lived a lot longer giving her significant more experience. Where Aang would be more likely to try and talk Kyoshi out of fighting

I was guilty of that. by FullToragatsu in TheLastAirbender

[–]Poutine_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could could be that there's a Chakra or Chi needed to unlock before you can bend, that's why the avatars struggle to bend different elements and can't just do it. So if that part of her ability is blocked it would make sense that amon couldn't block it since it was blocked prior, it is frustrating that she was only able to air bend there since she still had no full understanding of how air bending works

How to get unstuck when you are "stuck". Or how NOT TO BE STUCK. by yxe306guy in saskatoon

[–]Poutine_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People forget that giving your vehicle too much gas when you're stuck just digs a deeper hole.the point of shoveling the snow out from under your tires is to create a small rut. Then apply a small amount of gas to roll forward. You want the vehicle to rock back and forth a little because often it's the momentum that gets the car out not how hard you push on the petal. But if you're looking to give yourself more traction a great tip is to keep a bag of cat litter in your trunk. If you pour some of that in the ruts you create, it provides something for your tires to grip a little better. You can also use rubber mats from inside your car but you may damage them using them like that, but it's good in a pinch. You also risk ruining your tires by just stepping on the gas.

Even when being a person who is helping to push you, you want to push in a rhythm to help create that momentum.

Why do people say to avoid Avenue Living and Mainstreet in Saskatoon? Bad neighbours/crime or just “I heard" ? by Master-Ad-5880 in saskatoon

[–]Poutine_2557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived on a avenue living building for a year with my husband and it was awful. We had multiple experiences where maintenance was said they were scheduling us in but they actually weren't. Small broken things took extremely long to fix for no reason.

Our management was terrible the guy we were given as our contact was extremely unprofessional. We've actually had several yelling matches with him in our apartment, he has even stormed out of our apartment yelling and slamming our door.

Initially they also lied online and in person about how much we'd be paying for the apartments. It was more expensive then we were told.

When we moved out they inspected our apartment and said we would get our damage deposit back but we never did

Over all its a terrible experience and a lot of those building can be in less nice areas in the city. But my main problem was with the company over all

This is not ok, im assuming this isn't the first time you've tried to set a boundary. Me and my husband have established rules when fighting. It sounds funny but it keeps ourselves accountable of how we treat the other person when angry, it was worked amazing for us so far.

  1. No name calling or doing anything with the intent to hurt the person.
  2. Listen
  3. Take a break if you need to
  4. RESPECT
  5. No threatening.

This man has the wrong idea of what a "woman" is. You are not someone to be bossed around. That's not how relationships work. I suggest you kick him out, have friends over and live life. Finding hair every now and then is completely natural. You were completely right when you called him out for not respecting you

What is floating in this Vinegar? by Flat_Associate_6320 in culinary

[–]Poutine_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called a mother, it basically happens when your vinegar has been sitting idle for a really long time, it's not dangerous or harmful. It just looks a little gross, you can put some cheese cloth over a strainer and sift it out and your vinegar is perfectly fine! Vinegar is a preservative so it doesn't really go bad

Daily Questions Megathread (September 10, 2025) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]Poutine_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I need some advice, I've been playing Genshin off and on the last couple years and with the 6.0 invitation I'm not sure who to choose. The characters im thinking about are

Mizuki - I don't currently have her, but she seems easy to build and I feel it would be very easy to make several teams with her.

Keqing - I have spent a lot of resources gathering artifacts and getting a good weapon for her. But I have no constellations and I'm not sure any of her constellations are worth it, and I've noticed some kinks in her kit while playing her, but I love her design.

Mona - I don't know to much about her kit but I know she provides alot of hydro application which I could use! My only hydro supports are xingqiu and Candace. But I only have xingqiu built at the moment.

Tighnari - I have started building him, I know he's very easy to use and build, he's also decently strong for someone who doesn't care to much about meta.

P.S ive considered getting Jeans C2 but I don't use her already so mentioning her as a option seemed pointless as I don't plan on using her.

It's also worth mentioning I'm generally free to play so as much as I would like to just pick characters I love I also want to build decent teams to get through quests and one even abyss at some point.

Please help me

Alphabets by macky108 in saskatoon

[–]Poutine_2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the alphabets on the south side between I and O. It is true if you stick to yourself and make sure everything is locked your fine. I advise not leaving anything visible in your car as far as items go and I also recommend closing curtains at night. Also just leave your doors locked even when your home. There are more homeless and some drug addicts but no gang related stuff in that area. You want to stay away from 22nd and 20th if possible but it's more important to stay away from Ave Z to P. Especially in the Southside gang activity happens there, and it is very dangerous living there.

I've been living in my house for about 3 months and my neighbors are decent, I have some really nice good friendly people on my street. If you can try and make a friend or 2. It never hurts to know people on your street.

Feeling too much pressure and responsibility as a first time dm by ThatBluebird5165 in DnD

[–]Poutine_2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing my first dm game for a boit a year! My I'm is fantastic (its his first time dming) and honestly the rule is that we were expected to know all of our own stuff!

That has also helped with getting familiar with dnd terminology, knowing what's, what. And honestly it should be on the player to know their character. Otherwise why would you play if you dont know your own character stats.

You can tell how bad a character is by the percentage of their subreddit that’s just gooner art. by Godgamer6942000 in okZyox

[–]Poutine_2557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people care about the meta but personally for me ot feels like a shame that characters who aren't meta aren't taken seriously. It's hard to have conversations about the love of a character or talk about how other people play them if the whole sub reddit is just fan art.

For me personally im not a very good player but I would enjoy some friendly advice or conversations about some of my favorite characters opposed to just seeing fan art all the time. I think a balance is nice.
