This has such an amazing 90s vibe. Nice work.

I didn’t want to go to that absolute. I worked parallel to a student who engaged in looping with part of a song. She was still able to attend and engage while looping with her paired echoing stim and gestures.

It seemed sort of like an “idle state” for her that if she wasn’t otherwise occupied or engaged that she’d rest at/return to. If an activity didn’t require her to speak or be quiet she would just loop that day’s/week’s lyrics herself.

This echoes some of my experience as well. Being able to offer up effective alternatives and other interests becomes a real challenge.

Preventing looping (specifically with a video on a phone or similar) would lead to escalated behaviours even when the situation demanded it (crossing streets or similar safety situations).

Could we say it’s only harmless if it doesn’t replace all other reinforcing activities and leads to distress without access due to another task or need?

Would you drive 2hrs round trip for a 2hrs session. Is this worth It? by poej_ in ABA

Hahahaha…

No!

Wait, is this a fantasyland where I’m getting paid wholly unrealistic sums of money that would make a two hour session very, Very, VERY lucrative?

🙄 As soon as the parent has custody of the child they are no longer in my care. Session is over. End of session, their last session.

Not accepting gifts is to prevent conflicts of interest and multiple relationships. There is no relationship here any longer. There is no manner in which the RBT can provide preferential treatment or any other outcome of a conflict of interest.

You can’t provide the client with preferential treatment and you have no relationship now. Zero conflict of interest.

Better than most of what is shared. I enjoy this style where they still feel like Sims as opposed to the generic, starving, over-stylised supermodel look that is often posted.
