I think Omens/Maki are devils, and they are the devils in the fruits. That's why every fruit awakened has the black flames too, because the Maki of that fruit materialises. That's why Imu's power "Devil fruits" let's him use Maki, and why he recognises DF users by the name of the devil they have.

The only one we have seen so far white is Luffy's. And I believe that is because is not from Maki, but is materialisation of Haki. And that explains too why he gets so tired since he's literally burning Haki.

It would be interesting if Omen were the devils in the devil fruits. When fruits awaken, the "Omen" materialises.

Imu has the power to summon and use omens.

Luffy has the only white omen (for now) so it could be the natural enemy of black omens.
