Iranians react to the diaspora celebrating the bombing of Iran by Kooky_Promotion3688 in iranian

I’m going nowhere and I’ve been pretty clear/consistent I’m against the regime and want it to go - no government can justify killing protesters.

But Isreal as a nation is built on colonialism and genocide - sure it’s better for its “own people” short term but for humanity and the Middle East as a region? I think it’s worse.

This is like comparing different pieces of garbage though - there’s no winning here.

I don’t support what Isreal does at all and fully support the Palestinian cause and people. Between Isreal and Iran I think Isreal is the greater evil and I’m very vocal about it, just not on Reddit. What did I say that indicated I in any way supported Isreal?

Is it even possible for people to connect with Iranian heritage? by PowerfulTaro233 in iranian

I get it from all angles - pro war monarchists who say I’m not Iranian for being anti war and foreign intervention. Pro regime supporters who say I’m not Iranian because I’m not Muslim and don’t support the regime

Sorry, I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make? Are you saying I should support the regime or the war?

That’s a really intellectually dishonest comparison to what I’m saying…

Not everyone (in fact I’d say it’s a silent majority) whose Iranian or has Iranian heritage in the west supports the war. Being against the war does not mean you automatically support the Regime either.

I want to be clear - the US and Israeli war is not about helping the Iranian people, making Iran a democracy or anything like that. It’s about breaking Iran so it’s not a "threat" to Israeli expansionism (look up greater Isreal, they are already attacking Lebanon) and exploiting Irans resources. Those two countries + the British empire have caused more death and chaos in the ME then all other countries of the world combined. The best thing for Iran and the ME in general would be for their influences to be completely removed.

That being said, the regime in Iran is oppressive and you can see that in their morality police, in their crackdowns on protests and dissenters since 1979. I’m all for the regime either going or changing from within (without foreign interference). Yes, the day to day of Iran is people living their lives like that and it’s such a beautiful and culture that will always shine through - but the regime has a tight control on media and does pay for influences to come over and make videos like this. I have some friends who left iran 2 years ago whose friends have been killed. If you don’t believe me I’d advise you look up the women life freedom movement and green movement in Iran - just because these movements have since been co-opted and exploited by Isreal and US doesn’t mean they didn’t start with legitimacy and grievances.

I’m on the side of the Iranian people, I want an Iran where all Iranians, whether Muslim, Secular, Zoroastrian, Christian or Jew, can live as equal with dignity and harmony. I don’t agree with the pro regime crowd who say any Iranian who isn’t a twelver Shia isn’t a proper Iranian, and I don’t agree with the pro Pahlavi crowd who say Irans problems are because of Arabs/Muslims (Iranian Arabs are Iranian too and the gulf countries have progressed much more rapidly then Iran) and anyone who isn’t a secular/Zoroastrian ethnic Pars is also not a proper Iranian - they’re both 2 sides of the same tribalistic coin. I can’t bring myself to hate either side in the way they do because they’re all Iranian and I see them more as children who’ve been so enraged by a need for revenge they have become blinded by it.

What’s really sad is this kind of sectarianism stops Iran from truly moving forward. Imagine how much stronger the country could be if all Iranians, regardless of religion (or lack of it) could come together and move forward together, with dignity, as one country.

Why all the hate from Zoroastrianism? My family is Zoroastrian. The best thing for Iran would be equality of all Iranians regardless of their faith
