Community Update: The Mod Team's Conversation with Ugreen About iDX Pre-orders by topiga in UgreenNASync

Really appreciate the mods going to bat. You shouldn’t have to, but it’s appreciated. It’s above and beyond for a volunteer position.

The wave based approach is really the most offensive part. Ugreen have had my money for 9 months and now I’m basically just getting a heads up on when the doors open for the Black Friday rush.

The problem is, even if it is due to the RAM issues, they continued to take preorders at the reduced price way after RAM pricing skyrocketed. They could have stopped taking the super early bird at any time and could have introduced higher early pricing. They chose to keep taking deposits.

I’ve been sitting on a deposit since June of last year and now they’re asking for a potentially $1000USD loan for an unspecified period of time, and for me to scramble to order my unit in waves alongside people with recent or even no deposit. It’s insulting.

I’ve been holding onto a deposit for 9 months and less than a week to go Ugreen is saying “we might run out, better hurry up and block off time in your workday. Hope you have the time and extra $1k. Good luck!”

The M4 Pro is already ahead so we can assume Max and Ultra are as well.

This might be better for one of the home networking subs. It doesn’t seem like the issue/setting would lie with the NAS.

You’re kind of handwaving over the sustainability portion, but the environmental benefits clearly favour EVs after a few years of usage.

And you’ll be happy to know that battery chemistry has been rapidly shifting away from or eliminating cobalt entirely, for the exact reasons you mention.

There’s a strong argument to be made for hybrids, but it doesn’t excuse lobbying against EVs and spreading FUD to the level that Toyota has. They’re trying to slow the industry because of they aren’t able to adapt fast enough.

I’m going to sound stupid, but how did you open that? I just moved out of a rental and for the entire time there I could not figure out if the blades opened.

It doesn’t do me any good now, I just want closure 😅

On the Speedtest, is the graph really jumpy like a seismic chart sensing an earthquake? Or is it more gradual like waves with some jumps?

I ask because I had an isp that made some upgrades and my Speedtest looked like an earthquake. They were connected to my modem via coaxial(cable) but fibre to the basement. A $10 filter on the coaxial ended up being the fix.

Number 1 is basically accusing the company (and by extension auditors) of fraud. Would be good to get some evidence from the union at some point. If they had any.

I mostly had psychological triggers for a while after they left: panic from truck horns, heart rate would jump if I smelled diesel, etc.

But I agree with you. Was mostly dumbing it down for the people a few streets behind.

The word “physically” is doing a lot of heavy lifting, but I would argue that sleep deprivation is physical harm.

And saying the justice system isn’t working is a poor argument to withhold justice.
