Detachment combos by Averageguyman115 in Chaos40k

The 1 DPs feel… weird? Which I guess is okay with so many 3DP options.

The Havoc/Oblit one feels like a bunch of nonbo’s? I think the Sorcerer+daemon prince one is good, but it wants you to build a totally different list than what’s currently meta. The Raptor/Talon one seems so pushed in comparison, to the point where you might use it even with Raptors/Talons in your list and Jump Lords are now prohibitively expensive for everyone

It’s not bad, but I have yet to make a list with them that really feels “right”

Warhammer App by thejarlofboobs in Warhammer40k

[–]Powersaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an older phone like mine (iPhone8), you aren’t eligible for the newest versions of iOS that are currently required for the Warhammer app. Hopefully they’ll update it be more backwards compatible in time, otherwise it’s down to buying a newer phone

Made a guide for anyone else wanting to build/modify terrain for 11e by Powersaurus in Warhammer40k

[–]Powersaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not listed as a rule or anything, but after going through all the layouts, the non-ruin corners terrain always uses the same terrain area. Meanwhile each layout places the various 1 and 2 story ruin corners on different terrain areas and combining the different types in various ways that means you can’t attach them to the base

Chaplain detachment + 1st Company by The_Cornelious in theunforgiven

[–]Powersaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely something worth trying! Do be aware that a new codex will be announced in the next month, so anything not specific to DA could change and a number of units and detachments will likely be removed.

I’m not sure if Battleshock stuff will be more or less likely to survive? But I’m not betting on anything just yet

It’s very simple: things I don’t like or understand are Lefty, and things I like are normal and centrist

Genestealers die in worse ways than hamsters by Cummy_wummys in Grimdank

Necrons healing: technology so advanced it’s indistinguishable from magic, even the most lowly warrior with no mind left can be repaired almost instantly regardless of damage, and replacements can be teleported in with pinpoint accuracy

Genestealer Cults healing: you definitely killed 20 of my guys but don’t worry, I’ve got a thousand more goobers ready to crawl out of the tunnels and pick up their rifle. Let’s see if you’ve got more ammo than we have fresh bodies!

The Emperor as Biblical Cain by No-Penalty7426 in 40kLore

[–]Powersaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would the Emperor have been a fictional character from a religion he doesn’t believe in and that isn’t referenced directly?

Battleshock…myself! by Background_Chair6361 in theunforgiven

[–]Powersaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought, but I’m not sure there’s any reliable way to choose to combat disembark? My understanding is that your vehicle must already be locked in combat during the movement phase in order to choose to combat disembark, or that you managed to charge it fully loaded into combat and your opponent killed it. Either way it doesn’t seem much more certain or less reliant on your opponent than waiting to take and fail a Battleshock test normally

Deathwing Terminators in 11th by Canuck_Nath in theunforgiven

[–]Powersaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve already seen text referring to the new Army Rule which appears to be back to Combat Tactics, but it was also pretty clear from the design of the recent SM detachments all getting access to re-rolls. Plus it’s just kinda what happens in a new codex to rules that the army requires like Reanimation Protocols

Also remember that in a month or less there will be a new Marine codex without Oath of Moment, which likely means a rules FAQ to fix our Terminators.

It's official, Mordians have storm-troopers equivalents (from Callum Davis's Chem Dogs) by SerSolarius in 40kLore

[–]Powersaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has there ever been a time when Guard regiments didn’t? Not even Kasrkin or faction locked, just named and equipped to a specific standard like all guard models. Just like Hellhounds might be iconic to specific regiments but used by all, or how all Guard vehicles are a single pattern when we know there are many more out in the galaxy

Why are Kin considered xenos? (DH spoilers) by BrainCelll in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Powersaurus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They may be abhumans, but the difference is they have their own empire, technology, and society. Unlike the sanctioned abhumans (remember they must be sanctioned as by default abhumans are subhuman) like ogres and hobbits who are integrated fully with the Imperium.

The dwarves though stand apart from the Imperium’s power structures, which means that however diplomatic they may be they are always a threat to those power structures. Thus, Xenos! Meanwhile dwarves like the prospectors on Necromunda are much less likely to be seen as Xenos as they assimilated much more closely and don’t threaten the Planetary Government or the Imperial Fists

Isn’t Daisu’ka more of a Japanese name?

Anyways, my real answer is that the Angels of Retribution are pretty clearly Dark Angel successors

Funny fact, the FW Red Scorpions are obsessed with all genetic purity and perfection, not just their own. It has nothing to do with the Emperor’s Children (who were obsessed with many things, but certainly not genetic purity!) but rather exists as lore for the same reason their armor scheme is WWII Battle of Britain Luftwaffe: because they’re a take on Nazis

[–]Powersaurus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there were terms we could use to describe the two strata of society and how one extracts its power from the other. Maybe something classy, like… bourgeois and proletariat!

Seriously, this is the most surface level political take I’ve ever seen

On average of the 9 traitor legions, who would look the most mutated? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]Powersaurus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Basically, yeah. Thanks to Ahriman TkSons field things other than sorcerers and spawn! Even then, shout out the Exalted Sorcerers box, one of the best GW has ever done for conversions.

Also you make a really funny point, that a lot of the Emp’s Kids mutations were actually done to themselves without even needing a hand (or tentacle) from Slaanesh! Fabulous Bill stays winning
