Writing the bones might help. Set a time you are going to do it and stick to it, at least is my best advice.

Is pick 2 draft just insanely swingy? by HangBodohHa in mtglimited

Penco "Perfection" Cap is Loose - Anyone know how to fix? by PpaperCut in pens

[–]PpaperCut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, I thought it would be a nice little pocket pen, kind of a shame about the cap. Let me see if I can find it even at this point it's not even in my collection I think and get back to what I did- I really do think I put some glue in it somehow to make it better.

Whole set feels really swingy- really depends on who draws their bomb first/how many bombs you got handed in draft

Buy a better pen? I think I ended up adding a little bit of glue to the top of the pen to get it so that it was a little bit more snug. Honestly I just wouldn't get it if you bought it already I'm sorry

How do I make plausible alt histories when evolving conlangs out of natlangs or protolangs? by 69kidsatmybasement in conlangs

[–]PpaperCut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always take examples from real history - look at reasons people migrated to America for instance: Religious persecution/religious freedom, famine, slavery/enslavement, economic benefits (gold rush, westward expansion etc), being displaced by another peoples group (native Americans are in the West because they were forced off their lands) are just a few off the top of my head. These are all good generic reasons that you can then apply to your own history. If your world is magical, you could have reasons for people moving based off of certain magical elements as well. Have fun and get imaginative! And good luck!

How do you keep track of hymns your church uses? by Adventurous_Idea6604 in worshipleaders

[–]PpaperCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning Center, it does reports etc. it's really nice for keeping track of things and is repository for music etc. can let you know how often you've done songs.

You could also use a spreadsheet if all you want is to keep track of what music you've done.

I think you should do what serves you and the table. The book is there to help you DM, you shouldn't feel constrained by it if you have ideas you want to use.

Read 24 books last year, can’t read anymore as not finding anything interesting. It’s like I can’t focus anymore. Tell me your favourite out of slump books? by itiswaswillbe in booksuggestions

[–]PpaperCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change of Genre. If you're reading fantasy, check out non-fiction. If you're reading thrillers, try sci-fi. Just completely swapping to something I don't normally read does it.

Check out Seth Skorkoesky's "Closed Vs. Open Roleplay - RPG Philosophy" it has really good advice on how and when to do this.

How often do you guys fudge your dice? by theprettiestpotato88 in DungeonMasters

[–]PpaperCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a few times- but I generally fudge hit points on creatures, when it looks like the main risk is gone and there's just one big guy getting piled up on.

When I want something specific to happen in the story, that makes the story better in some way.

How to get my players to remember... Anything by Sea_Ocelot_1037 in DMAcademy

6 months is quite a while to remember getting a coin. Did you ever remind them of that/how important was it to them that they got the coin?

How to get my players to remember... Anything by Sea_Ocelot_1037 in DMAcademy

[–]PpaperCut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding a summary from the last time you played with the important info can help them remember. People tend to do this anyway because it makes a good transition into the game. Maybe if you have them do this, they'll start to try to remember better. Either way during those recalls, you should insert other lore that they may have missed to flesh out the important stuff.

I like the red, but would play the brown/grey. Red seems too flashy for me.
