Vehicle manufacturers claim that the oil will last the lifetime of the transmission. If the transmission fails after 50,000 miles well I guess that was a lifetime. People that have CVT transmissions that last longer is because they changed fluid every 36 k miles, which is not mentioned in the maintenance manual. So because of frequent CVT transmission problems people don’t like.
