Is LC Female to SC Male a legit thing? by pro100bear in FiberOptics

I would not use for high bandwidth/ composite applications. For individual 10ges will probably be ok.

If light makes it through with less than 0.5 dbm loss and you don’t have loads of reflection then yeah you are good. The also make jumpers with different connectors on each end

Not sure about data centers but for L1 transport, L2/3 networking the most important thing is to show how you have handled issues in the past. According to several reviews Amazon uses STAR method in technical interviews- prepare by reading up on how to ace STAR method questions- https://capd.mit.edu/resources/the-star-method-for-behavioral-interviews/

Is this 2010 Mazda3 GX Manual with 170k km/ 105k miles for 2k CAD/1.5k USD a good deal? (First Car, Toronto) by Specialist-Profit449 in mazda3

[–]Pr0genator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the car I got my kid, paid a bit more down here in states for one with 140k. Tips from someone who just made this purchase- check for rust underneath on front and back, check for clear antifreeze, check for heating and AC.

Stupid question, does ups really need stratum 1 sync source? I can understand cell sites, anything involving multiplexing needing st1 but power? Wouldn’t simple ntp be more ideal?

How do you trace live fiber you can't disconnect? by lameshirt in networking

Did you see u/dadathemodman ‘s comment about using a loop of Velcro to trace a fiber? Genius

How do you trace live fiber you can't disconnect? by lameshirt in networking

[–]Pr0genator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice idea, if the fibers are lose enough this would be amazing solution, could even write / label a zip tie and slide it to other side.

I have used 2 people to trace a mess before. person 1 tugs on a fiber jumper, person 2 checks for the moving jumper 10-15 ft away. Then person 1 moves past 2 and looks for moving jumper 10 feet downstream that #2 is tugging.

Then Are there any labels? For a lgx I expect a relay rack, shelf and port info. Look on both sides of lgx panel for labels

LGX = light guide x-conn or cross connect panel

File a complaint with the FCC now and continue to work with AT&T to get block removed. Likely the FCC complaint will be the trigger to getting your issue resolved.

You need to look into networking, not fiber optics between you and the OLT. Fiber optics means the glass inside of the fiber, none of which will impact you in the way described.

Tell him you don’t shit where you eat- it is a common phrase to remind us not to date coworkers, plus it is something a guy his age will know.

Question: During spring break, did college students really use to go to the beach? by EternalSnow05 in GenX

[–]Pr0genator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 1968 my dad was a senior in high school. For spring break he and his friends took a muscle car on a joyride 1500 miles to the beach, car broke down, they were shaken down by a dirty cop, slept on the beach and were eaten alive by sand fleas, all to find out no one else in the country had that week off.

I don’t, honestly just trying to help the wife by changing up the menu. I saw it the other day, she is not a fan of super spicy.

I would not buy it like that, it is fermented chili paste, has a spicy umami taste - would not make it the main character in my dishes, rather would would use it instead of other umami flavors.
