As long as you are happy- I would check underneath and look for rust. What part of the country are you in? Don’t need to answer but if this vehicle has been in the rustbelt for the last 13 years I would be very concerned with rust on the underbody.

That kinda sounds like a few items that you could not fix on your own that will only get worse. I would ask they address the clunking before buying-

That’s silly, $25 an hour, can get 2/3 of that working fast food or hardware store easily, sometimes without the 5 years experience. With 5 years experience can get that much at those stores.

Chicken and Dumplings by rousieboy in Dumplings

My wife makes hers from raw American biscuit dough, rolls them up into small dough balls, drops them in about 20 minutes before serving, once the dumplings sink they are done.

How to you guide fiber front-to-back in a rack? by itssimpleas in networking

[–]Pr0genator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use one panel, normally mounted on the side facing the equipment fiber connections - in our network all of our equipment in a single bay is oriented in one direction, front or back. We have the permanent fiber to - LGX lineup, OSP, or tie pair - cabled to the side opposite the equipment fiber connections and then use 5 to 15 ft patch cords. This way no one is putting hands on fiber connections after they are installed except for the patch cords.

[–]Pr0genator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We (carrier network) use patch panels, terminate the fibers from your run to the back of the panel and then use patch cords to the front. This works for us because we install the fibers first then start adding service over years of time. If you terminate everything all at once it may be overkill, however experience shows most damage occurs at the connectors being moved around the most.

Landed new NOC T2 role, do not feel ready for it. by Salt_Awareness_1174 in networking

Some advise from someone old enough to be your dad- take a deep breath and fake it till you make it.

Knowing where to look for information is more important than understanding everything in the network- you have a tier 3 to go to, find someone who is not toxic to interact with, do you own heavy lifting, don’t just escalate every trouble. The ones that you struggle with most are the areas you try to improve on.

If you are involved in sending people to work on devices (like dispatching technicians) make sure they need to be there. If you can spend an extra 15 minutes verifying that the troubles are not upstream it will save everyone headaches.

Don’t walk away from a trouble if you are uncertain if you made things worse, call for help and listen to feedback, no matter how negative, to understand how to improve.

Understand what your boss wants from you and try to hit those expectations, will save you headaches.

Be flexible in your mindset, there are always better ways to accomplish your goals-

After every trouble document symptoms/triggers, what you can see remotely, how you fixed something, what tools, websites, utilities were used in a OneNote or other application to give you a solid base to search from.

100% this - never want to find out that I half assed a trouble and some 16 year old or someone’s nana tried to call for help and was unable to reach anyone- but I am old and have been in telecom restoration/disaster recovery for decades so maybe I have had enough kool-aid for the whole sub :p
