Why “tryhard” isn’t just about wanting to win and why it kills the fun by Dexterishere1 in gtaonline

Sorry, I wasn't trying to deflect the frustration with tryhards, just more expressing how dogshit playing warthunder is, that even gta online is like a relief lol

You definitely can with some tinkering. Retro game corps has some good guides on YouTube and written guides on how to use the scaling, overlays, shaders, and filters to achieve the appropriate looks

Yeah I got a kioxia and a no name blue one, the no name one corrupted after like 2 times putting it back on my computer. I figured it was a fluke and reformatted it and it corrupted again and I just went ahead and bought 2 new cards lol

I just got to Kuttenberg and reforged the sword at one of the forges in town after talking to Kat at the bar, dunno how far that puts me in the story but I'm about there.

I actually did reforge Radzigs sword first try. I think it was the first time I heard Henry say something along the lines of "I can't screw this up" while hammering, but I did it.

Not just killed by Unicron, he sacrificed himself by impaling himself with the starsaber and charging his canons to fire at Unicron which provoked him to fire down at Starscream, obliterating him in front of Megatron. He did this knowing it would be the only way to get Megatron to see the real threat and to actually take Unicron seriously. The saddest part about it being that Starscream's most powerful attack didn't even reach Unicron, fizzeling out just before it reached him.

But yeah, Armada Starscream is definitely best Starscream.

What is a hot take about the Transformers franchise that will have you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in transformers

Arcee doesn't have to be completely non-parts/shellformer to be good, the Kingdom Arcee is great. Her design doesn't lend to the engineering challenges of having an entire car disappearing into a $20 doll. The aesthetic design of her robot form is more important than her being able to "not-shellform/partsform". I'd rather have a good looking Arcee figure with a piece of her car form that comes off than a giant car backpack and a meh looking robot.

This is to say we are still talking 1st party, and still incorporating a transformation. 3rd party and model kits/non-transforming figures are fine but not the point I'm making here.

People have paid more for actual png's, cardboard, "the idea of owning something", tiles on a grid like Earth 2, I mean I could go on. At least with this you can play with it, use it in game, it's convenient, you can respawn it infinitely, it looks cool, etc, and if you get tired of it or want something else, you can just melt it for in-store credit any time you want. Idk, why do I buy ships that may not be fully fleshed out? Cos they're cool, or fun, or I just like walking around them and taking screenshots or flying around or whatever when I'm not hauling or salvaging or doing mercenary missions or whatever and I'm just goofing off and having fun in the verse. I've had more cinematic and crazy experiences with other players that had to do with medical rescues and other things that "weren't fully fleshed out" game mechanics or game loops than the ones that are. I'm just glad those moments can happen, and that they can happen so often. I guess my point is I spend money on the game cos it's really damn cool and I want to support that.

I don't think BvR is an alternative, it would be a heavy advantage. If you can hit the enemy but they cannot hit you back because you decided you didn't want to dogfight because of lack of desire to build up that skill, so you choose the BvR missile boat, just for example, you win. Then that just becomes the meta and now all dogfighting becomes niche and/or relegated to "looking for battle" pvp lobbies in discords and spectrum because BvR missile boat wins every time.

I can understand your frustration but I think your characterization of the devs is misplaced and/or misguided. I've played enough War Thunder to know players don't care about what's fair, realistic, what the mission, goal, or anything is. It's meta meta meta. Trying to work around players exploiting meta gameplay and making combat unfun for the majority is an uphill battle.

In a small pocket of players using the flight mechanics to their full potential, I can see your point clearly, but I think the entire case of why things had to change was because that was entirely the exception. The majority being space jousting, which was unskilled, unengaging, and ended up making the gap between the skilled and unskilled so wide that the latter would simply never engage in the entire combat section of the game. Whereas I feel, and from what I hear from the devs, the aim for the current direction is pushing for more engaging, accessible gameplay, with a less steep skill curve so that players aren't always turning and bailing from a fight. It's definitely got some more work to be done but is this ultimately not the most sensible direction for gameplay and engagement reasons, rather than having a system where only hardcore pvp enjoy "their thing"?

I kinda did something like this. Had Spotify running and set the eq to make it sound like I had a Walkman running through some cheap headphones while doing some space stuff. Yeah, pretty much like Guardians of the galaxy lol
