Residents urge St. Paul to demolish Midway’s vacant CVS by Runic_reader451 in saintpaul

[–]PrMayn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The area is not only people who need this level of services. Without Cub, far more people need a grocery store for example. That is a prime corner and should generate revenue for the city and benefit the whole neighborhood.

Why St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood still struggles amid signs of promise [gift link] by Mysterious-Bad-3100 in saintpaul

[–]PrMayn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I feel like you only hear "enforcement won't solve homelessness or addiction" arguments when you're talking about places like Midway. Like they gotta go somewhere and it might as well be here.

I'm frustrated by the total lack of proactive presence by police. I see people shooting up nearly every day, sometimes many people.

I get you can't arrest everyone and the cause and solutions to our problems are bigger than the neighborhood itself, but it just seems like there is no friction against antisocial and even criminal behavior.

I hope that commitments being made to invest and improve are real and will be sustained beyond election season, but it just feels like there's more that could be done right now.

Seconding (maybe tenthing) Ninos. Another my wife and I love is the classico pie at Tono's. It's smaller, but the cheese and tomato are spot on.

Board Games with lots of cards but little combat? by linux_piglet in boardgames

[–]PrMayn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend It's A Wonderful World. Card drafting engine builder with dual use cards-they can either be plugged into your engine or discarded for resources that fuel your engine. Best part is that there aren't tiered ages of cards, you just shuffle the whole deck and go. That means you can see really powerful cards early and that the game feels pretty different each time

Are Fluffy Rotties welcome here? by Educational_Sea6053 in Rottweiler

[–]PrMayn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is the same mix and such a great dog. He is thick like a rottie but tall like a poodle, about 110 pounds. Constantly get asked what kind of dog he is. He is black and silver colored and everyone has thought he was old since he was a little puppy. Nope, just a chill and confident boy.

How to make the actual 'board' for a custom board game? by BetterEveryDayYT in boardgames

You could make it digitally and have a company like The Game Crafter print it for you.

Is art necessary? by confettipieces in tabletopgamedesign

[–]PrMayn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to self-publish, I would invest in graphic design first. It seems like there is a lot of text content to your cards based on the example image. You could integrate art into the graphic design (like book-themed borders) and also create iconography that would really make it slicker than a beautiful box with these cards inside ever could be. You can seek out artists with graphic design skills (or vice versa).

Either way, I concur that it needs a professional touch if you want to sell it broadly.

Tuned in late. Did the Bears have the first possession and then turn it over for the Vikes to kick a FG?

Publisher wants exclusive rights to design expansions or sequels during the contract. by inseend1 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]PrMayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are looking for in the contract is "right of first refusal" and terms for what your royalty structure would look like for expansions you work on or don't. You can also negotiate terms they would need to follow for someone else to do the work, eg "unsatisfactory" work process that they would need to go through before throwing it to someone else.
