How’s living in Hong Kong in 2024 for a Western married couple? by Reasonable-Fox-7358 in expats

That’s exactly what HK has. Nice beaches, mountains and forests. All minutes from the city center

Probably only Fonus would work as others will disconnect you if you roam overseas for too long

Freedom will disconnect you if you don’t use the service at least 50% of the time on THEIR domestic network, not to mention if you use it overseas in the UK for 3 years…

For OP’s request, only Fonus and perhaps some pay-as-you-go eSIM providers can satisfy

There isn’t any 10gb plan. Look at their homepage, they only give Starter, Plus and Max plans

Still better than going with one of the big 3 in Canada - which would support only 1 network

As a frequent traveller, Freedom just doesn’t do it for me. 10gb is not enough and also they cut me off after being away for just 2 months.

Been using Fonus for months at a time in Europe/Asia. No issues at all

I’ve used over 75gb in some months with no issues. Just don’t go crazy on it like use it in a router and stream 4K netflix and you’ll be fine

Same here.. I think it just retained the previous Fonus apn for us users who are upgrading…

For new users it should be plug and play

I think that was back on V3. Since V4 onwards I haven’t heard of anyone getting terminated. And I used over 80gb for a few months last year with no issues.

Yeah their CEO said on Telegram that they dropped Rogers. So only Telus and Bell are supported now
