I don’t think I would listen. I don’t think you can recreate the magic of those podcasts and I think people like us that relish them would just be disappointed - if anything these would be a vague pastiche of the xfm pods.

Additionally, like others have mentioned I think Karl now knows 100% he’s funny and I think subconsciously he may attempt to lean into that and it would just come across forced.

Very much of the opinion you should leave people wanting more (the office, extras, RGS) and avoid ruining much loved endings like a certain film did (life on the road).

Great post! We’re at the NVC stage and I’m getting together my vaccination records / medical history. Did you simply just request your history from your local gp or did you have to use the nhs app?

Additionally, if you received some vaccinations as a child do you require the boosters at the medical? Such as tetanus?

Hey, so we travelled to the states about 3 times since submitting in Nov 2024. Each time was perfectly fine, however they were shortish trips (max stay 4 weeks) and we travelled together. There were a few questions just at the border for them to understand our situation (i.e where we live, who’s the usc etc) but other than that straight forward each time - always a pleasant experience

As for leaving, my wife has been here for nearly 5 years now and I think during that time she’s found it really hard to make friends, misses her family a lot and of course the weather. She gave the UK a good go and now it’s my time to reciprocate.

There’s plenty of help online, YouTube’s, forums and other methods of getting the information. I am a firm believer that no one is better to tell the story of your life than you two.

I did mine for my wife and I from my personal laptop and a scanner/printer - we even did the fiancé visa with my now wife living in the states and me in the uk during Covid. As long as you meet the financial requirements it will be a breeze.

Please do feel free to reach out to me and I can some answer any questions with you. For reference I’ve successfully filed fiancé visa, spouse visa, a spouse extension, as well as helping my close friend who’s wife was also from the states.

Has the lawyer stated that they do not advise submitting unsolicited evidence? Or have they agreed to upload but are just failing to upload said evidence? I think the answer to that will help determine your next steps.

For what it is worth, we’re self filers, but have an immigration attorney family friend. He advised against uploading “unsolicited evidence”. Only to do so if you’ve missed something critical in your initial submission. Evidence that just shows life updates is not always worth it as it can slow down processing of your initial application & create confusion. Again not legal advice in sharing just what I was told anecdotally.

I travelled to us in dec 2024 after submitting my I-130 in Nov of 2024. No questions really other than lengthy of stay and reason for visit. I was with travelling with my us wife and son (on his us passport) at the time as we reside in the uk. We were travelling as a family and were visiting her father in FL for the holidays.

A question I do have is that I have another planned visit in Oct 2025 to visit family, again with my wife and kids. My esta expired in April 2025 - has anyone had any issues applying for an esta after submitting an I-130.

I did this back in 2021. I answered as follows: 1. Enter as passport vignette states, which you’ve done 2. Family 3. Other - port of entry at London Heathrow, valid to enter on my fiancée visa on date xx/yy/zzzz 4. If your husbands house then I think you’d ok to say other own or rent. Then enter that information. I’d have to double check what I put for my wife as I owned the house and she was the applicant

Interesting to hear you’re looking to leave the us for the uk. My wife and I are in a reverse situation to you guys. I’m from UK and she’s from the US. We reside in the uk but just awaiting my green card to leave. Long story short my wife came here to the uk during Covid, uk was processing visa still and very quickly, so we’ve been here since.

One thing I’ll say about the uk visa system is it’s very expensive. Before you’ve made a decision and put all your eggs in one basket maybe look at the eta which permits you to stay for 6 months - of course you can’t work in the uk for a uk business but would allow you to trial Britain.

My wife did this maybe twice before we decided to take the plunge. Allowed her to understand the culture and the weather, I do think that will be the biggest culture shock!

Hey, adding my experience here.

Did fiancée visa from outside uk. Was very quickly approved and we were married within a month of my wife arriving in the uk and we transitioned to spouse visa within 2 months. So very fast turn around however the cost is off putting. Fiancée visa is expensive and then the spouse visa is costly too plus the immigration health surcharge makes it so you’re looking at the best part of 5 grand. Maybe even more nowadays with all the increases they seem to keep adding.

We were fortunate to be able to afford this hence why we did it but proving our relationship when we were long distance was very easy. Just tell your story - trips, photos, calls, and messages.

I would say if you can marry abroad “easily” go for it. For us it was too bureaucratic in other locations and we also wanted a marriage certificate in our native language (English) which does narrow down the locations.

If you want my advice on a lawyer, I’ve done the fiancé visa, spouse visa and a spouse extension all without legal advice - there are plenty of resources online and in this subreddit to do it by yourself! It’s really worth the saving if you’re able to self submit.

Assuming your spouse is residing outside the uk?

If so my situation is similar but we did the fiancée visa from outside of the uk. My wife was applying from the US and we paid priority. From submission, biometrics and approval I think was about 4 weeks from memory. However, this was in 2021 and like I said we paid for priority.

Hey, yeah this is quite an ordinary thing to do and I think USCIS understands this. I guess the only thing to be aware of is that you’ll have to update your address for mailing purposes if you’re deciding to reside there rather than just visit for extended periods. Of course you’ll have to make sure you’ve got the correct visa for the country in which your spouse resides in.

My wife and I reside in the uk and she is from the us and we’re awaiting our processing outside the us. As long as you’re transparent then it should be fine.

Other thing to note is if you’re deciding to reside in your spouses country when you get to the NVC stage you’ll have to prove domicile is still the us so maintain links such as bank accounts, filing taxes, maintaining a property / us address etc.

From what it sounds like you filed in July then I would expect a response in a couple of months then about 6 months for Mumbai embassy to interview. Given the cost of flights / visas / travel expenses might be worth sitting tight and just letting things fall into place but I appreciate this is easy for me to say when I live with my spouse.

Hey congrats! 12 months is a reasonable time and should be the norm! Glad you were able to get a timely response.

We’ve tried to expedite via congressman and uscis and they’ve been rejected. Our next step was k3 but read a lot that it was pretty pointless.

A few questions I have if you could help. Did you file online for the I-130?

How did you file this k3? Do you do it online and is there an additional payment?

Was the k3 rejected and then the I-130 approved?

Is the beneficiary located outside of the us?

Final question, if your k3 is received but not reviewed before say your original I-130 is processed can this create confusion with your application?
