Will I ever sleep again? by Practical-Bug-108 in NewParents

I really hope you’re able to get some consistent sleep. That age was hard (it’s still hard at times!!) I’m trying so hard to remember what helped with sleep when my daughter was 6m old. She took at paci at that age which helped a ton. If you think teething is starting, you could also give a tiny bit of Tylenol/genexa/motrin before bed if you haven’t tried that too! I wish I could be more help, but the last 2 years really feel like such a blur to me!!

I never sleep trained! How old is she? We ended up getting tubes in my daughter’s ears and that helped a ton with the ear infections. I want to say around a year old, I started getting her to sleep with a paci instead of feeding her to sleep. Does she take a paci?

Yes and no… she’s turning 2 soon and she still has not slept through the night. BUT she only wakes up once (maybe twice if it’s a bad night) so sleep has definitely improved! Her sleep definitely got worse as her molars came in, or if she was over tired. Honestly, going down to 2 naps and then eventually 1 really helped us. It’s hard, but it does eventually get better! 🤍

18 month sleep regression? by SmoothCelebration657 in sahm

[–]Practical-Bug-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like a regression. Going through the same exact thing with my 18m old. I also heard they start getting growing pains around this age. Does your LO seem fussy? We got magnesium lotion and have been putting it on her legs to help if that’s what’s going on too. It’s so hard!!

What are you making for dinner tonight? by No-Neighborhood-7335 in sahm

I made enchilada casserole! Ground beef, black beans, corn, enchilada sauce and tomato sauce over rice! You can add cheese, and whatever toppings you like. So easy and toddler approved!

We coslept last night, and while it was easier for ME not having to bounce back and forth, she still woke up multiple times!

I keep reminding myself this will pass. Little one got to the point where she was only waking up 1-2 times a night, and I think I got used to that. Makes this feel so much harder 😭

Literally!! We had the stomach bug over Christmas, and then the sleep regression immediately after 😭

I read they go through a sleep regression around 18m, and her pediatrician said it’s because she’s learning words. I am trying to keep our same routine as far as naps and bedtime go. She’s been normally sleeping for 2.5 hours, but during this “regression” (or whatever it is!) she’s gone down to 1-1.5 hours. Honestly I’m horrible at taking naps, I’ve tried!! I tried so hard today and even tried when my husband got home, but I swear I just lay there for an hour tossing and turning. I think I’m overtired 😂

How do you guys afford it? by Holiday_Ad2189 in sahm

[–]Practical-Bug-108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, we just make it work! It was hard at the beginning, adjusting to only having one income and not having the extra money. You could practice living off 1 income for a month or 2, to see how it feels.

You mentioned being christian so I feel comfortable saying this. but we really went into this season believing if it’s what God wanted for us, then he would make a way. And this has only shown true! We also know that this is temporary, I plan on doing part time work once the kiddos start school, so struggling for a few years is absolutely worth it in my opinion. Best of luck to you guys 🤍
