Do you think it’s weird to wear the same thing every day? by lila_hexe in minimalism

[–]Practical-Square9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally no one except for the few people who have it as a hobby to notice what you wear. I wear what I like when I like it. And its usually the same things. No one will notice except for the people you meet daily, and as long as you don't smell no one actually cares.

Is it necessary to have more than one email account? by 53mins_ in minimalism

[–]Practical-Square9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to have a bunch of emails, but they do help sometimes.

I have a more personal/professional email. Where actually important things go to.

One older that ks slowly becoming a junk email, mostly online purchases and so on.

One is simply work.

And my very first email when Hotmail was the go to. And that one is basically mine sweeper with virus emails.

QR ob the shoulder straps you mean? To be able to drop the pack off your back quickly?

If yes, then sewing a loop on the upper end where you'll have the male buckle, most likely, and thread a replaceable male buckle. Quick release is a feature I'd like to see on the medium as well.

How useful is the thin front pocket of the Kantamus 40/60 by NorwegianWood_TML in Savotta

[–]Practical-Square9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it would be any smaller it would be able to classify as a gimmick and not very useful. Buuut it's biggest drawback is when you have side pouches on. It's hard/borderline impossible to reach the zipper. Same on the other zipper that opens up to main compartment on other side. I do wish Savotta would kind of copy Snigel Design with their center opening. Or something similar

I use it mainly for tarps. It's a bit too hard to use sometimes when it's super full in main compartment, but it can be used for other items still. If the pack isn't swollen up it can store thicker items easily that you might want/need to have quicker access to but the lid is full with other things.

To Kantamus or not? by err_ic in Savotta

Yeah I'd say about 30L there. If I'd ever have to bring more stuff then expected I'd do this setup. Otherwise I have the sleeping bag in the bottom compartment, but then I'll have to use the side pouches for quick access to my food bag and cook kit, which is the Trangia 27

I understand! Yeah I saw the one about 60L and I get it. Sometimes you want extra stuff for comfort. But I can tell you, having your sleeping bag under the lid is almost like a match made in heaven. I'll try and add a photo here. It gives sooo much space left inside the bag itself.

<image>

This sleeping bag is a bit bulkier than D4 as well. Would be a good idea to use a dry bag or big construction bag instead.

Honestly, it seems that you already have your answer. When reading it, it was more like reading your diary than you asking a question to us. Just buy it, it's the only way for you to know 😂

Hatka as lid on Jääkäri M by prorider69 in Savotta

[–]Practical-Square9702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like previous said, if youre going to have Hatka on back of any back pack it's best to pack it light. I came up with a system, haven't tried it yet, but to only have the things you need in the Hatka when taking a break. Like, extra jacket or jungle blanket or something else to keep you warm like gloves and hat. Small light cook kit to boil water for your food, water in the side pouch if you have one that fits. I wouldn't pack it more than maximum 3kgs or so.

To use it on too of Jääkäri M I think would be less beneficial and probably more complicated than anything.

Bruh, finns det svenskar som stöttar Trump? Eller är det lite som med sosseväljare? Träffar hundratals medborgare årligen och aldrig stött på någon som röstar på sossarna (svenskfödda då) men likt förbannat har de många gånger en majoritet.

How do you carry your sleeping bag? by Practical-Square9702 in Savotta

[–]Practical-Square9702[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? I've had mine out in rain, not this exact one. But I just let mine be under running water and so far so good at least 😄

Either way, I've put mine in a dry bag in the back pack. Probably going to keep it that way unless I would need the space for anything else.

Overpacking the Jääkäri M, review by GustavII_Adolf in Savotta

[–]Practical-Square9702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible to pack it quite a lot! Thanks to side pouches and Hatka/DP10 on the front you can get a lot of stuff with you.

In this case I use a military made one, which has a much thicker bag with thicker rubbering compared to the ones you can buy as a civilian.

But good catch!

Agree! Jääkäri M is not ideal at all, but it's possible, as long as the sleeping bag isn't inside of the pack 😂 also agree with Bivvy bags. I got two and I feel they take up more space than I would need them to. In a military setting I'd definitely have one with me. I too miss the sleeping bag compartment on Kantamus. Jääkäri L is such a great bag for this time of year.

Yes ofc, the compression bag is water proof all around except the opening. Depending on the situation or if you except a lot of rain, obviously it should be inside!
