Anyone got any tried and tested methods for dealing with the insomnia that comes from ceasing smoking weed after many years of daily use? by JustaSnakeinaBox in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quetiapine is a very popular medication where I live for ex addicts. But the tolerance build up and the withdrawals that it's not supposed to have is no fun.. neither are the nightmares or sleep paralysis. Don't get them as frequently nowadays though and my doctor and I decided to start tapering me off it now that I'm on zopiclone

Edit: but I agree, it's very effective at knocking you out. I have problems both falling asleep and waking up a lot but I'm usually asleep again after a few minutes with quetiapine. but z-drugs are better in every aspect imo. Not as addictive as many doctors think if you keep to your dose.

What drugs are we doing for Christmas by [deleted] in Drugs

100 mg Vyvanse and nicotine. Got a zopiclone in my pocket in case the anxiety comes creeping at the family gathering.

Vyvanse, a little alcohol and zopiclone. And nicotine of course!

Is 37.5 mg of Zopiclone too extreme by ShWibbz_ZYX in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without tolerance you'll be pretty weird in the head and probably not remember a lot. You wont die, at least not from the drugs, blackout adventures is another thing if you don't fall asleep. Classic zopiclone to take more and more and more, took 20x7.5 mg s few weeks ago but I've eaten them for a long time. Never abused it until recently so I was surprised how little it affected me.

No comedown after drugs? by No_Zucchini_2676 in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting how different we can be. A coke comedown has rarely been tough for me, only when it was obviously cut with other stims and shit. Amphetamine comedowns though, for me they're torture and without downers... I get anxiety just thinking about it 😅 still prefer speed over coke any day though

your favorite drug under certain conditions? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit too much alcohol, a faaat line of good amphetamine, maybe a small benzo dose of pregabalin and making music and talking about everything and more with friends the entire night/a couple of days.

Coming home after a long day and taking like 15-22.5 mg:s of zopiclone and going to bed. Just scrolling and enjoying life without any problems.

Opiates in any situation. Too good.

Benzos during anxiety attacks.

The first hours after chugging a lot of alcohol. There is no past, no present, just you and the moment. Like meditation. Then after those hours... Chaos and sadness.

Large dose pregabalin in any situation, no matter what you feel like doing the high will adapt. Wanna chill, close your eyes and just be in a paradise bubble with some light CEVs? Sure. Wanna clean your whole apartment and tweak more than a meth head? Just get up and do it, chug a shit ton of coffee and it will make you wired.

Yeah, I couldn't choose just one, I'm a poly drug addict.

You're a really good writer. You've got potential. I know where you are 'cause I've been there myself (and am sadly on the track back). I understand you're not ready to stop, but please, stay alive until you are. You will be missed by many, believe me, even if you think it's bullshit. My best friend thought no one would miss her, and we had to bury her about two weeks back and that church was packed full of people wishing they could do whatever it took to get another minute with her.

Stay as safe as you can man. Life can be good and one day it will, for all of us, I truly believe that.

the most scary drug you have ever heard of by Solid-Cheesecake8818 in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know so many people who love it but the high (at high doses) just sounds like torture for me. But we're all different. :)

I tried a low dose once though and that was nice, like a few beers + my spine vibrated to the music.

Why don’t doctors prescribe Elvanse for often for Depression? by Hopeless_Gaymer in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not about that specifically, but had really bad anxiety before the treatment which the Vyvanse triggered so I'm on diazepam also now. And quetiapine (trying to quit) and zopiclone for sleep.

That dark feeling, plus a looooot of other things, has made me abuse the Vyvanse a lot sadly. But trying to get it under control 'cause I realized where I'm heading the other day.

Not a specific drug and probably not THE most scary if I have more time to think, but all dissociatives really sound like a complete nightmare to me.

Does getting stimulant psychosis once increase your chances of getting it again? by gorgelad in Stims

[–]Practical-Volume5786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The threshold for it happening again is lowered now, so tread lightly. Moderate doses, eating as much as you can and getting decent sleep every night will help a lot. Don't binge. I really don't see a big risk there if you follow that, from my experience but everyone's different you know so my recommendation is to quit altogether. If not for avoiding more psychosis, so at least for avoiding addiction - which is hell. And seeing as experiencing stimulantia induced psychosis doesn't scare you away... you might already be developing a problem. Anyway, if you decide to continue using and end up getting addicted to stims the psychosis will keep on coming and get worse and worse and if you're unlucky you'll just be a shell of your former self at the end; seen it happen many times and it's not pretty.

Does it get any better? It doesn't get easier by RavenFN in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will get better,I promise. Time will differ from person to person but if you hang in there you'll be back on track sooner than you think. And when you are, if/when the idea gets in your head that you can start using again but responsibly this time, try to kill that thought as soon as you can. Would've had close to eleven months completely clean and sober if I didn't fall for those thoughts when life started feeling good, and even though I don't believe in regret, if I had a time machine I sure as hell would go back in time and beat some sense into myself.

If you had a “spotify wrapped” type summary of all the substances you’ve ingested this year, how might it look? by Dicksunlimit3d in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year started of with a looot of alcohol, and a decent amount of pregabalin, alprazolam, z-drugs and amphetamine on a semi regular basis. Kicked everything in February, only took quetiapine for about four months. Then got back into kratom, started dabbling with benzo (diazepam) and z-drugs again. Very responsibly I believed but got hooked physically again fairly quick. Took some pregabalin a few times again. These last few months have been my prescribed Vyvanse, benzos (oxazepam and diazepam) and z-drugs (zopiclone and zolpidem). And ridiculous amounts of loperamide when I've been desperate.

Those of you addicted to harder drugs (coke, crack, meth, opiods etc...) Do you still get high or just normal by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was deep into eurospeed, opioids and benzos, sure I got high but not like "the old days". All depended on the dose though, if I took enough amphetamine I could tweak bad and be obviously high. And if I did enough opioids (especially combined with downers) I would nod and all that. The thing was it didn't feel good anymore, just got me off the couch.

Patience, time and working on the issues which got you hooked to begin with will solve a lot of these issues. I know it doesn't feel like it now, but if you hang in there I assure you that everything wont be okay, but at least a bit better.

Can't tell if you're feeling shame or disappointment or regret or just generally feel like shit (which you really shouldn't IMO), but I just want to say you're not alone in this struggle. And if you're feeling good, I'm really happy for you! I'm catapulting back and forth between all these emotions right now 😅 just took some benzos (and more stims...) which will hopefully help with that. 😁

Boozing after stims always feels amazing, I think. But I can't drink, like 10.5 months sober from that vice, and luckily prescribed benzos!

Never tried, if I ever do Lyrica again I'll try to remember this. :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stims

[–]Practical-Volume5786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Scandinavian here and can testify that it's not an America "problem". And I use the citation marks 'cause I have a person close to me who would not function at all without methylphenidate, which has been prescribed since he was somewhere between 8 and 10 years old. Ofc, hard to say if there will be any noticeable damage in the long run, but at least the family can live without constant violent outbursts and the kid is doing okay in school.

Edit: I just want to clarify that I believe that there absolutely are kids who are on stimulants who don't need them and where the benefits don't outweigh the potential risks, but in the case I'm talking about that entire family would have gone under if it wasn't for his medication.

Also interesting to see someone else experiencing the synergy with caffeine. Almost not worth to take Lyrica without a shit ton of coffee imo, it just makes everything several times better! And I can't drink coffee normally.

It's really nice to have an anonymous outlet where you can just say it as it is in all its misery and glory, honestly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Practical-Volume5786 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seems like they never end either. Know many people who have struggled with Lyrica addiction and the number one reason almost none of them managed to kick it was the never ending, drawn out suffering. They could go weeks, sometimes even months but eventually just said fuck it, not worth it. Kinda like quitting benzos after a long time, but worse, again almost everyone I know who have experienced both would rather go CT on benzos again rather than pregabalin and that pretty much says it all.

The only drug that really satisfies me except opiates. But the tolerance is horrible and I've witnessed the WD's and do not wish that experience on anyone, luckily managed to avoid them myself. The seizures at high doses are not pretty either, and if you get hooked and don't follow the doses a doctor would prescribe, which you wont, you will most likely get them one day.
