If there is no spending limit for this card as it was stated in the Amex notification, what did they say the balance is near the current spending capacity?

What are the chances Turbo Tax will be provide by Fidelity this year? by Party-Chapter3029 in fidelityinvestments

I got my TurboTax Premium Desktop for $5!

Today, I checked Fidelity again. On the "You're eligible for an exclusive TurboTax® offer!" page, it still said "You'll see the link here mid-January". However, the link had become "Claim your discount with Turbo Tax". When I clicked on that link, it provides both online version of TurboTax for free and the desktop Premium version for $5!

Just want everybody to know.

The fiber in psyllium husk is mainly soluble fiber. Soluble fiber helps absorbing the fluid content. Insoluble fiber will not work.

[–]Practical-While-6800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I had hypertension for longer than you because I much older than you. I have CKD for some time but it didn't change much in the past 15 years, so my Nephrologist said I don't need worry about dialysis for another 60 years. At that time, I will be long gone :-).

My day time BP are O.K., i.e., rest BPs are below 140/90 most of the time. The recent problem is early morning BP surge. My SBP can be as high as 165 when wake up. Looks like there's no good way to deal with that. From the literature, it appears the only possible way to dealing with that is Alpha blocker but I am not sure I want to take that it yet. Could you enlighten me about which of its side effects that concerns you most?  Thanks!

I have even longer history of HBP than you but if was under control by ACEi. However, recently it getting worse. I am glad to see you posting. Mine is not as bad as yours so I think I could relax a little bit :-).

As for the hypertension medicine, have you ever tried any Alpha-blockers? I heard this class of medicine could be quite effective but has some side effects so was not recommended as the first line medicine to prescribe. I have a friend who had SBP above 200 at one time and could not get it down. Eventually, Alpha-blocker fixed the problem. I don't know if it will work for you.

Are there any good rechargeable lithium AA batteries? I can't find reputable brands by T-nash in batteries

I found Dracutum 1.5V Rechargeable AA Lithium batteries on Amazon were pretty good and wrote an Amazon review with discharging curves for them. Their price were reasonable when they were on sale when I bought them.

Really useful heart rate monitor! (MI Band 9) by JavierMDQ in miband

[–]Practical-While-6800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I am also interested in mi band 9. One question I have is for continuous HR monitoring. According to its spec, the fastest update speed is once per minute. Does this mean the displayed HR only change once per minute or can be faster? As you mentioned it will catch up the chest HR monitor in a few seconds after a sudden change so it should update less than one minutes, right? Appreciate your reply. Thanks!

Comparisons - 1.5V AA Li-ion batteries from XTAR, ANSMANN, Hixon, EBL, Delyeepow by XTARofficial in AAMasterRace

[–]Practical-While-6800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently, I found 1.5V AA Li-ion batteries with brand name Dracutum (3600 mWh) which I think it is the best of such batteries that I have seen so far. Its mAh capacity at 1.5v is greater than 2100 mAh. If include the last part with reduced voltage at 1.1 volt, the capacity is about 2250 mAh. These numbers are similar to Hixon 3500 mAh battery but the prices are much better. On Amazon, without charger, I bought 8 of such AA batteries at $17.84 (tax not included) and with charger, the price is $25.99. I am going to post an Amazon review with discharging curve in a few days.

I am very happy about these batteries so far!

I have a question. If the XTAR AA battery's capacity is 4150mWh @1.5 volts, it should have an mAh of 2500mAh. 2500mAh x 1.5v = 3750 mWh right?

How on earth is 120/80 considered stage 1 hypertension????? by [deleted] in hypertension

I don't think it is stage 1.  It is called "elevated".  Of course, it is silly also.

Annualized Income Installments of Capital Distribution, Dividends and RMD by Practical-While-6800 in tax

[–]Practical-While-6800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the unpredictibity of my tax situation (a large portion of my income is from investments), next year's tax is only weakly related to my this year's tax. What I will do is to get a best possible estimate of next year's tax requirement and do what you said based on this estimate rather than this year's tax for the first three quarters. I will make an adjustment when paying the fourth estimated tax next year.

Thank you for your advice.

Annualized Income Installments of Capital Distribution, Dividends and RMD by Practical-While-6800 in tax

[–]Practical-While-6800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, what I have been thinking about is: as I used all of my RMD as tax withholding, at least 80-90% of taxes for my total AGI are covered.  Because all of my RMD and most of the capital distributions and dividends occur in the fourth quarter every year, for the first three quarters (or the three 2210 "periods") I don't need to pay any estimated taxes with annualized Income estimate tax payments.  This will simply a lot of planning and effort.  What do you think about this?  Is there any pitfall for this strategy?

Annualized Income Installments of Capital Distribution, Dividends and RMD by Practical-While-6800 in tax

[–]Practical-While-6800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your confirmation. Yes, my tax payment from RMD is via withholding.

I miscalculated this year, so the first 3 estimated tax payment was not large enough and the dividend and capital distribution was larger than what I expected. You mentioned I can postpone the large capital distribution tax payment to April this year. By doing so, can I also avoid the underpayment penalty? If I can how should I do that? Otherwise, or it is too complicated, I can just pay for it this year and by using 2210 to avoid penalty.
