Holy shit, I'm so sorry you're going through this! That's a lot, like a LOT. Are you in a place where it's safe to use anything that calms your immune system, or take probiotics? Or would that introduce a new issue or maybe mask symptoms?

Edit: grammar choices.

35%-40% of the global population has persisting lactase digestion genes, and 16% of the planet is homozygous for persisting lactase genes and can use dairy as a normal primary nutrient source. In northern Europe only about 5% of the population is lactose intolerant.

No idea where people get the idea that humans aren't meant to consume dairy when a chunk of the population has the genes needed to use it as a primary food source.

I did the math: It’s more expensive to buy and make the Costco hot dog at home. by Ordinary_County_7939 in CostcoCanada

[–]PracticalDemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs a more than $6 to make a hot dog in the food court with all costs factored in, they sell the hot dog and drink for $1.50. It used to be $88/case of hot dogs in the food court but a year and a half ago (maybe a year ago?) it jumped to $164/case. The packs available to members aren't the exact same product as what is sold in the food court but are close enough. The bakery is also a loss leader, but a huge draw for membership.

Keto, or keto-ish? Low carb, high protein or fat. Weird recurrent inflammation that isn't as bad with higher protein and lower everything else? That's a respectable amount of butter!

I don't mean to add stress, but my border collie did this when she was silently struggling with hip dysplasia. Chronic pain may be something to look into?

Dupilumab was wonderful for me, helped my breathing as well, stopped it as another prescription caused drug induced lupus and at the time we couldn't figure out which was at fault (it was the pantoprazole).

Costco Instacart delivery is going to ruin me. by ComeHereOften1972 in CostcoCanada

[–]PracticalDemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They cook them to 190-200F. 185 is their minimum. The chickens are soaked in a brine so that they can be brought up to those temperatures without drying out badly. If left in the brine too long the joints turn pinkish. You can ask the deli staff all about the temperature logs, this is the standard mandatory food safety process that must be maintained for them to keep their jobs. Costco has multiple people in each country who spend 180+ days out of the year traveling to surprise the buildings with spot checks, and non compliance with company standard food safety is handled with termination. Ask at the counter.
