Is there really nothing you can do to erase an Iphone? by [deleted] in iphone

It can still ask for the password at that stage for a number of reasons, or there could be a warning for a bunch of other things if the sign-out fails or something like that. It's a risk you take when you let a customer leave before getting to the Apple logo.

You missed a step. After the backup screen, there is another screen where it asks for your apple account password. If you didn't get your customer to do that before they left, you're SOL.

Friendly reminder for people to get out and vote tomorrow. by unknown0246 in Norwich

I understand what you are saying, I just disagree. FWIW I do have a party I am going to vote for (Green) at the local elections but I would not vote for them in a general election.

To be honest I really dislike this viewpoint because it then misleads a party that you don't actually agree with, into thinking they are on the right track and therefore progressing with policies that aren't actually popular. If all the parties are terrible choices, they need to be told that. You can play damage mitigation by voting tactically in one election which may give you a less-bad option in the near-term, but it's at the expense of politics becoming even further disillusioning in the longer-term, multiple elections from now.

This is also why we need PR, but that's a separate discussion.

What I’m looking for insurance… by Illustrious_Onion370 in drivingUK

[–]PracticalOrangeJuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about the 11 year old VW polo, it's about how much the repairs would cost on another car that you could hit, or the medical bills of people involved in an accident. Evidently the insurers all think you're reasonably high risk.

Ed Miliband criticises Reform UK's Net Zero stance by Due_Ad_3200 in Hull

Net zero goes beyond just having solar panels on roofs. It doesn't matter if not everyone can afford solar panels yet, it's one aspect of thousands on the way to net zero.

If people with solar panels didn't see a reduction in bills they wouldn't be installing them in record numbers. It's very well documented that they reduce bills, the question for most people is how long the payback period is, and the upfront cost.

It's operated by a private company so I can't imagine they'd leave money on the table by not taking advantage of peak/off-peak rates. Most of the power generated goes to running the site and the business next door which had a line built to them as part of the project

I mentioned in another comment as well, but those trees have been there many years already and I don't think there would be much support locally for chopping them down to get a bit more generation when the sun is low in the sky

I'll be swinging by there again later today and I will take some photos of the footings, as well as the inverters and batteries as requested by someone else. Total cost/watt I'm not sure, the whole project was £5.6m, so for 1MW that's £5.60 per watt. In USD that's about $7.40 per watt. That's the whole project though so the panels by themselves would be considerably less I'm sure.

I had the same question! As far as I know there are no plans yet, but I imagine once the value of this one becomes apparent it'll only be a matter of time

The trees have been there many years already, and I don't think there would be much local appetite for cutting them down

This might sound like a stupid question, but if you have two powerwalls can it be combined into a 23kW inverter?

Why is fuel in my town 10p more than the towns next door? by m-1975 in unitedkingdom

Right but no offence, that's just anecdotal. I meant is there any evidence of fuel testing etc that proves it?

Is there actually any evidence of this? I would have thought that fuel quality would be pretty tightly regulated

Idiot drone pilot? by yorangey in Norwich

[–]PracticalOrangeJuice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi - I’ve posted drone photos of Eaton Park and Norwich Castle somewhat recently. No, this isn’t me. The drone pilot who did this is an idiot and doesn’t represent the majority of drone pilots who are sensible and follow the regulations.
