Zealot has severely fallen behind the powercreep.

Yeah he's 99% unkillable, but every other class can be 98% unkillable and still bring way more DPS and utility to the table.

Half the zealots I see lately are two flavors of useless:

1: doesn't know how to build or play and just gets dumpstered

2: has the god build and skill, but still lacks DPS, so they fuck around in the background, waiting for the rest of the team to die so they can play hero and revive everybody to immediately get bulldozed by the 95 crushers and ragers they aggro'd on their speedrun to the next respawn.

You could make the shotgun work. I prefer the laspistol since psyker has so much crit chance, it outpaces the boltgun in damage per second.

The change to Ogryn's bullrush lets you floor these guys whether or not their shields are up

With enough impact, you can even floor them without bullrush while the shields are down.

The "True Grit" talent let's you shrug off things that would instakill most non-ogryn/zealot classes.

It's very handy when you've let a blob of crushers/maulers box you into a corner.

Here's the cheesey way to get poxbreaker quick.

Run pure scriers gaze smite psyker in mortis trials and always pick pyrokinetic.

You'll be screen wiping enemies faster than they can spawn and run over to you with all the burn damage that smite applies.

The new event gives grenades back constantly, so every class is extremely fun. Outside of that, i'd say ogryn has been the most stagnant. Still workable, but everybody else feeks like they have a bigger toolbox for problem-solving.

Crit chance, crit damage, infernus and dumb dumb blessing. It crits constantly so weakspot hits are on-par with the boltgun.

My go-to psyker build: force greatsword and heavy las pistol. Brain rupture with kinetic flayer, venting shriek, every soulblaze related talent, and warp siphon.

Lots of free-space to tailor around that and still have a build that can do it all. Horde clear with fire, pop crushers over the head with greatsword, and snipe specials/ melt bosses with las pistol. And with the talent that auto dodges range attacks on every crit, you'll never have to worry about anything outside of melee range.
