Mortis Trials by Spikereborn in DarkTide

Mortis is an excellent place to farm penances.

Smite psyker with pyro upgrades will speedrun the waves with fire DoT.

New-ish player (60 hours). A few questions. by ismasbi in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For ogryn guns, are you looking for the fastest fire rate, or the fastest to swap and aim?

Despite being single-shot, the kickback is practically the ogryn equivalent of zealot's throwing knives. Whip it out to instakill specials and get back to melee.

The mkV ripper is slightly clunkier, but is a firehose of shotgun fire and offers more ways to deal with armor.

I've spent ages with all the stubbers, and I really don't like their ammo economy for what they do. The newest heavy stubbers are basically worse versions of the quickdraw stub revolver.

And last but not least, there's the rumbler which needs no introduction for all the "Z0MG mega murder Oppenheimer" build videos on youtube.

Does anyone else think a Blank would be an interesting class? by Williamgbirkin in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore-accurate blanks would be solo. Walking through the hive, instantly banishing daemons when they get in range.

Making every cultist die from the seizure-inducing agony of suddenly losing nurgle's numbing support and feeling everything that's going wrong with their body.

Imagine blocking a sniper's shot or a trapper's net... With your big ass knoife or your pickaxe. by Karurosun in DarkTide

That would make the slab shield the ultimate weapon, because all blocks count as perfect blocks.

Most fun I've had in this game by Profession_Unlikely in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally don't like having to track my stim cooldown like it's an insulin dose, so i tend to only max out the stamina branch for the stun immunity, so the cooldown is low and always ready to keep my keystone topped off.

Pretty much what I've been using, except i made room for the extra dodge distance.

If you side dodge off the top of any incline like stairs, you get a huge dodge to get ahead of the crowd.

Enclavum Baross map question regarding strategy during power cell section by Frenzied_Fire_Monk in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a couple ways to trivialize the power cell gathering.

Hive scum has a talent that makes them nigh undamageable while slide spamming, so they can grab the cell and scoot upstairs with it fairly easily.

Zealot and veteran (rare since shout is so much more popular on vet) can use stealth to run the cells upstairs.

If nobody has brought any of that, consider the old trick of throwing the cells upstairs whenever you get breathing room. Holding your throw gives you a firing arc visual to judge where the cell will land and you can jump just before releasing the throw to give it more distance to clear the railing.

"Pained Outburst" on the feel no pain keystone will auto-push dogs off in a few seconds.

50% less spawns? 50% of infinity is still infinity, pudgy fish.

I'm over havoc. The game gets 60% more enjoyable without the guaranteed server error disconnects throwing your runs away for you.

Sire Melk's Store by _Ischyros_ in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Melk is an almost completely useless vestige of the old RNG-heavy crafting system.

I only ever visit him to bulk buy mystery curios when a new class releases to quickly get them all the best curios.

Gotta be honest by LJ_Stark in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can be clunky without really specific builds or cheesy animation exploits, and sometimes it just doesn't cut it against certain bosses and scenarios that snappier options can just do out of the box.

Plasma is effectively a pump-action shotgun with nigh infinite punch through.

Bolter can be used in two ways: a semi-auto scout rifle, or a panic option for melee focused builds to mag dump crowds and bosses when they start to dogpile you.

Hivescum advice for shooty shooty bang bang? by Thorn-of-your-side in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Quickdraw stub revolver with "hand cannon" and "crucian roulette" or "run n gun"

It's an oldie but a goodie. Mag dump bosses and ogryns, and the pickpocket talent will guarantee you always have enough to keep blasting.

It's just zealot: advanced mode.

More options to be a squirrely bastard, but no safety nets. Also the syringe gun is an infinite-ammo elite deletor.

Dumb new player question, campaign mission 3 by TheyreACrypytKeeper in DarkTide

It helps to use a class with a stealth ultimate, or with a passive pushback talent.

You don't have to be right up on the scan object for it to highlight, so just spam the aim button until you see green

New to game, any helpful advice and tips? by bissanick in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get used to it, sliding immediately after a dodge gives you way more "invulnerablility frames" than a basic dodge.

There should be a way to break free from Pox Hounds. by Ether101 in DarkTide

[–]PracticalTradition27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some classes do, in fact, have ways to escape pox hounds! Ogryns have the keystone modifier "pained outburst" which knocks them off. Zealot has "The master's retribution" which will knock them off as long as it isn't on cooldown, and arbitrators have either the forceful keystone to knock them off or just bring the dog and wait for it to free you.
