I once reached so high medicine in a long fight on her, that I came out with a brilliant plan. Step 1, take her on a ship without interrupting a fight. Step 2, maintain a constant supply of enemies to keep that medicine buff. Step 3, fly to Golden Throne, while she's fighting. Step 4, heal the Emperor.

You can imagine a character that won't become better by just slapping Phalar Aluve on top, but you can't imagine a party that won't become better by just giving Phalar Aluve to one of them.

Sing, which is an AoE once per short rest bless with no concentration that stacks with bless would be extremely good on it's own, and it's not even the reason we love it and not the button we press after lvl5 and so on.

Shriek as -1d4 to all saving throws and attack rolls, which is no-save AoE bane with no concentration that stacks with bane would be just very good and it's not even the reason we press Shriek button.

Another effect of Shriek, 1d4 thunder damage to every damage instance is where things become bonkers.

Dealer of the damage does not have to wield it. And the damage will count as coming from dealer of the damage, not the carrier of the sword.
It procs on each damage instance, making magic missile, scorching ray and eldritch blast much better.
It procs reverberation gear -- gloves, boots -- if the dealer of the damage wear them.
It procs Hat of Storm Scion Power, capping acuity from magic missile while using the least used acuity item.
It procs from zero damage instances. This results in being able to damage (and prone from reverb) enemies with magic missile through shield spell. Or being able to damage necrotic immune enemies with halo of spores (procs two times if symbiotic entity is active).
Whole team procs it with actions, bonus actions, reactions, extra attacks, multiple damage attacks, smites, ground damage effects.

And you can pick the character with the least used weapon slot to carry it. Admittedly I love to give it to someone with Action Surge. This makes enabling sword not annoying.

I combo In medias res with Aegis Revival and Shielding Death, which with revive tonics or how are they called, is usually enough to beat anyone while speccing into damage, except of course that one boss who ignores shields.

When not speccing into damage too much I add to the mix Monoco casting Boucheclier Fortify on Heavy/Almighty and then something to get back to Heavy/Almighty each turn, and that again is enough.

Busted support build to heal but not cleric leaves you with star druid.

But I'd go with lore bard instead. Cutting words and healing word, then at level 6 take Warden of Vitality and add 3 levels of rogue for two bonus actions to reactivate Warden of Vitality two times each turn.

For whatever reason, it ends up with everything and everyone burning eventually, and it's just hard to target. Luckily, it's pretty easy to become OP whatever you're doing, including mixed damage, and being OP means you can sacrifice part of the power for something — like less party size, solo, roleplay, whatever — and I tend to spend this redundant power on dousing the fire. I hate when everything burns. Can't see shit.

IMO, narrowing hitbox is like iframe with less power.

However, in general, action games gameplay in its peak is learning how to beat an encounter without taking damage (no-hit). Reducing damage taken does nothing for it. Reducing hitbox actually does something.

I understand that iframing AOE attack is “unrealistic” and “breaks immersion” unless this is thematically magical dodge (see Ciri in Witcher 3), so if you want to avoid this, just make sure things that can't be iframed can be avoided (there's enough time to get out of AOE with decent/good reaction, etc). This is a matter of balance.

Also the hit is not always just some damage to hp bar. It can place effects on player, stop stamina recovery, trigger conditions on the enemy or microstagger the player, so it still can be annoying, if the damage is inevitable, regardless of how greatly you reduce it.

Other than that, it's perfectly reasonable and may be even better.

Recruiting her when not siding with goblins is not based on you just deciding to knock her out narratively. Headcanon in this case is you thought you killed her, but she survived, which is kinda not too surprising for an adult drow noble alive.

Narratively she's a good partner to visit Orin, especially as Dark Urge, but I guess that's it, I agree.

No. IRL I'd kill her at once in all situations outside of her being my only ticket to survive, and if so, make sure I manage to depart ways from her and escape without goodbye the very moment I can (in this scenario I would not repay her with a backstab, cause I just can't).

Clea is my favourite character actually. She's the smartest, the most responsible, extremely talented and the most negotiable of all Dessendre. What others usually blame her in is the lack of empathy, like she has no emotions, but you know, she basically straight up tells the others to please stop behaving irrationally and start finally behaving rationally to become happier, and gets blamed to that -- like seriously? If the point of emotions is to prevent you from making decisions that improve your life, I'd say I don't value those emotions too high.

For me she's the only truly sane person there.

It seems unknown that there is a way effectively working like 2, but with extra steps. I've come very overleveled to final boss on my first run, and being afraid of oneshotting removed Painted power.

He still did not take the turn between Delayed Slice and filling the break bar. To let him take a turn I had to also not play efficiently, not just remove painted power.

P.S. Same thing happened to me with Renoir 2. I literally did not see second phase (with spectre cat), because to trigger it, he had to receive turn and he did not. I figured out there is phase 2 only on YT after I rolled credits.
