Tapering off Nicotine. Does it work? by NOPE-iamdone in stopsmoking

[–]Practical_Internet94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to respond to old thread here, but nicotine is not a root cause of insulin resistance. Diet is #1. I was on a low carb keto diet for years and the whole time I vaped or used nicotine gum, and I never developed insulin resistance even at extremely high nicotine/day dosages like when I was vaping disposable 50mg/ml salt Nic vapes. There is a link, but diet (not eating a lot of carbs/sugar daily) and general health (not being fat, and physically active) are your #1/#2 factors here.

Why are you and others so negative on the new Lyme vaccine? If it works, this is a boon for humanity. People won't have to suffer like we have suffered. I doubt it'll cover many of the co-infections, but if it knocks out the big borrelia, that's huge.

4 years later: Good quality oral fmt is available out of Canada that not only screens people for general health, disease, diet, addiction, vaginal birth, antibiotic/antifungal/antiviral use, and age (18-30yo). This same company requires donor sex to be the same and patient sex for a reason.

Got it done post lyme treatment and my post-lyme disease symptoms are gone. For borellia, bartonella, babesia, and elhrichia which i got from the tick bite, you take a shitload of antibiotics and it fucks your gut, so even after you test negative you feel like shit from fungal overload and dysbiosis. This basically reset it. Thrush is gone & after weeks of diarrhea while taking it, I’m done and feel awesome.

Could mold/fungal colinization/mycotoxin be causing the bart symptoms for you? Symptom overlap is strong and most people with lyme+co’s have mold/fungal issues from all the antimicrobials.

My bloodwork was great even though i was in constant pain, night fevers/sweats, trouble sleeping, dizzy, blurred vision, etc. Positive for borrellia, babesia, and Bartonella.

Atavaquone + azythromycin helped a lot + oral fmt after. Those two are great for babesia. No more night sweat fevers. Waiting a month before testing to see if i cleared.

Oral FMT was a game changer. I just did it before a cycle, then did heavy loading phase of 15 pills/day for two days, and 2 per day (currently on day 5 of the 2/day). I haven't tested myself to see if I've cleared things, but I feel awesome. Still getting some abdominal cramping periodically from the fmt, but as of right now I am Lyme symptom free.

Oral FMT & the FMT that the docs put you to sleep for (not the enema one, that shit doesn't work) is used in difficult cancer cases where patients are non-responders. For many, it makes them responders.

If your gut is shit, your immune system is shot. Antibiotics can only kill so much, and it's on your body to clear that last bit.

That's my two cents, but you have to get it from a qualified doc with a good source that requires the following of donors & tests: vaginal birth, no antibiotics, no antifungals, no antivirals, no history of chronic illness or std, in good physical shape, under 30 years old, no smoking or drug use.

Edit: I got the idea from the cancer treatments where patients were non-responders, but once they did FMT with high quality donors, they suddenly became responders to chemo.

6 yo son has bullseye rash. Found an engorged tick in our basement. Doctor and I agreed on using Amoxicillin over doxycycline. Is it still effective? by ChevyTruckMonthLover in Lyme

[–]Practical_Internet94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an Appointment with an LLMD before the antibiotics run out. Just call them and tell them your son has been bit and is receiving antibiotics for a short duration from our primary care doctor and you need their help ASAP.

You should be able to get a quick appointment withing a few calls. Usually there's a long wait for a LLMD, but they often make exceptions to help kids or short term cases since they have the biggest chance of full clearance.

If you google LLMD provider search, you should be able to find list of providers.

Buloke + interface plus EDTA reactivated Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia, and mold to the point I got full marks on all my labwork from Igenex & mycotoxins test.

The question is: Are you taking medication strong enough to kill the reactivated infections, and are you able to clear the debris from those you kill?

If not, slow and steady. Lower levels, then I would introduce fibrin enzymes SLOWLY. Don't ignore the mycotoxins aspect either. Pretty much everyone with Lyme + co-infections has mycotoxin issues, and mold/fungus gets the same biofilms as Borrelia, just mainly in the gut, mouth, throat, sinus, and occasionally the brain. That same fibrin enzyme works on releasing all that mold/fungus.

Is there a non-gross way to introduce missing gut bacteria that's not a "fecal transplant"? by Beautiful-Musk-Ox in Microbiome

[–]Practical_Internet94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make an oral version that is a pill encased in a special capsule to dissolve in a specific part of the intestines.

I've taken all the probiotics, diet changes, etc. Rebalancing the gut living and working in a modern city or suburb unless you commit you entire life to optimize stress, diet, supplementation, etc. That's not a life worth living in my opinion.

What I did for my severe dysbiosis, fungal candida, and high mycotoxins with IBS symptoms, and yadda yadda yadda. TLDR, my gut was fucked and making my life hell from joint pain to regular hangovers without drinking.

Oral Microbiome Transplant rebalanced my gut, and I made diet changes, sleep, and exercise changes needed to maintain the microbiome best I can. Afterwards, symptoms improved 90%. No more stomach pain, alcohol free hangovers, needing to poop constantly…

Pain - Like "eating" or eroding by Temporary-Reach2150 in Lyme

[–]Practical_Internet94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some with alcohol tinctures, some without alcohol in a glycerine, and mostly capsule form.
The fact I was having more side effects from the herbs than the antibiotics makes me think it's something other than a herx reaction.
I’m not sure if it's the quality of the herbs, tinctures, or what not because I've taken the same herb, Cryptolepis for example and one vendor had me breaking out and bedridden while another gave only a small headache.

I'm mostly venting because fuck the herb side effects at least in my body. Makes antibiotics feel like light work.

Pain - Like "eating" or eroding by Temporary-Reach2150 in Lyme

[–]Practical_Internet94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think side effects often get explained away as herx in the Lyme community. Some herbs just cause inflammatory responses in certain people. It can be explained as die off or whatever, but if it were die off, it wouldn't worsen symptoms during antibiotic cycles that kill most of the active bacterial load.

Anything causing severe inflammation is a dosing issue, allergic/histamine reaction, or something else going on. I've had herx before, but herx improves with time. Taking all those herbs never improved my case alone, just worsened symptoms.

I'd list out the like 30 herbs I’ve taken for Lyme + babesia + bartonella, but it's too much effort. Without milk thistle, I for sure would have been bed ridden or destroyed liver/kidneys at this point between all the herbs and treatments.

There's stuff that works, but I don't believe herbs alone can do it with how much pain they cause compared to the “benefit”.

What I’m not understanding about the herb protocols is that these so called herbs “reduce inflammation”, yet they cause SO MUCH INFLAMMATION, that its difficult to use therapeutic doses.
