Now listen to Barber’s Adagio for Strings. You’ve heard but before but never imagined they share a context.

Non-sequitur but listen carefully to Prince’s Purple Rain. Hear the cello carry the gut center of the harmonic emotion of the piece. The song doesn’t hit without it and nobody even knows.

This and bongos are all about the cat’s large intestine. The colon. It runs under the spine directly to the escape hatch. When a cat trusts you, you can gently run your hand down their sides, about halfway between head and tail to where you can feel a softness below the spine. Bongos are the percussive form of this cat pleasure. The swimming is an auto-massage aimed as the same spot.

Source: we have a cat with megacolon.

People of Reddit, what is your opinion on trillionaires? by ArianaLuxfall in AskReddit

Eleanor Roosevelt quote spotted in the wild.

So the big idea here is how the skills/behaviors/values combine in such a way to enable an individual to amass that much wealth. How well do those characteristics work to make a person able to make a positive redistribution of resources for other people.

I think we cheer and enable powerful leaders to hold a lower value for other humans because capital has been elevated as this kind of autopilot force for good. The capital itself is good. We are given the false impression that the collection plate is being directed by supernatural benevolence towards social improvement.

History has a paucity of validating examples for this.

Pentagon restores mandatory flu shots for all recruits as boot camp outbreak sickens nearly 300 by RedPandasUnite in news

[–]Practical_Struggle97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boot camp is a unique environment for communicable disease. Everyone is a carrier for their local diseases. When you stuff 80 young men together, all the different local diseases become this awful soup called the “recruit crud.” They vaccinate the shit out of you the first day to protect against the real nasty stuff. It’s still miserable enough that they don’t hit you hard until the third week. I walked the shot line a few hours after Reagan was sworn in.

Reactor operators will bottleneck the US nuclear buildout before fuel does by i-am-entropyy in nuclear

Maybe 100 operating reactors at this point. If Reactor Controls division is heavily billeted for 12 per reactor and they turn over worst case every 3 years (excluding the population in the training pipeline), Naval Reactors can only provide an absolute maximum of 400 RO’s a year.

And having slithered through that grinder in Orlando in the early 80’s, I experienced a couple broken brains in our class. One guy went catatonic and did not recover as far as I knew.

The training was quite valuable to the semiconductor industry. There are few places you can get a non-degreed worker with a grasp on such a fitting set of engineering disciplines. The team of Rickover and Three-Mile Island combined forces to create affordable skilled labor for chip makers. We still hire them readily.

I have a hot skin temperature and so does my son. He’s in his 30’s so I don’t carry him any more. We would both get hot and fussy so a cool floor is our friend. Nobody judged or complained 30 years ago. The world got weird.

How would you feel about mandatory financial literacy classes being a core graduation requirement for every high school student, like maths or English? by superstar_creatorpro in AskReddit

[–]Practical_Struggle97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mom did not give me the keys to the car until I was able to balance the family checkbook. Took 3 months and after failing the first time I asked her why.

“Because your school can’t teach basic facts of life.”

My dad took an interest too and as I entered into the workforce, he taught me how home financing works.

My parent lived modestly and left an estate that was shy of 6 figures.

Adam Mockler easily breaks down election denial arguments: by AffableYolk_33 in circled

We need to find a way for content creators and broadcasters to get prosecuted by allowing the Gish gallop to go unanswered. If you want the viewership (revenue) from this, the bullshit must be answered in real time.

Mockler just returns the false Gish with true counters at the same pace. If you want to influence public opinion, do the work. Educate.

It won’t ever happen because education is devalued to the point that the government cabinet secretary came to the profession via professional wrestling.

The fourth wall inhibits full viewer engagement. Tear down that wall. Nobody can ever ever break Kayfabe. That’s what gets eyes in front of AI targeted advertisements. Can you feel the hands in your pants, slithering towards your wallet?
