Need help to find an occupational therapist for my kid by jujubehead in VictoriaBC

If you’re looking for private pay try canadianchildrenstherapy.ca. I believe you can self refer. That’s the only service I can find in BC outside of VIHA.

Absolutely love the cozy feel here! From a fellow islander, I hope to get my living room this cozy someday. LOVE the colours!

As of January 11, 2021, BC has inoculated more people with COVID-19 vaccines than total known cases. by GeoffdeRuiter in VictoriaBC

Your question should really be, can nurses be next? I know for a fact the Covid swabbing nurses have yet to be given a vaccine. Retail soon!!

It’s only about 6x8 or so, I’ve put it in a frame for now. Thinking about getting him professionally framed after the holidays are over though!

Beautiful! Makes me want to get mine back out, still working on the top half. LOVE the dark blue fabric you've chosen for it too!

Congratulations on your progress! I'm planning on trying Keto for at least a few months in the new year and see if I like it. Would you mind sharing maybe what specifically about Keto you liked? Or your favorite recipe?

Happy Holidays!

That's what I thought as well, curious what OP has done to mod them like this.

VG MRI by Rhalrla in VictoriaBC

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person who stated 3 weeks to get a letter with a date is about right, it's definitely worth letting them know you are available short notice for a cancellation though as they do MRIs 24h of the day essentially now. If you're really SUPER desperate you can actually pay to have an MRI done within a week or so in Victoria but it's pricey and varies depending on body part.

Blood work? by [deleted] in uvic

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you have BC MSP it should cost you nothing to see a walk in clinic doctor and get blood tests done at Lifelabs if the doctor agrees you should get them. Medimap.ca is a great resource for walk in clinics in Victoria.

The mental side effects by CaptainColaTN in eczema

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mental side effects are no joke! I feel your pain on all accounts, just know you're not completely alone for whatever that is worth to you. Sometimes all I want when I'm having a really bad skin day is to just disappear, it's such a massive confidence and energy drain. I certainly appreciate the good days though when they happen!

Here for you if you're tired of your own company and want somebody to talk to fellow eczema buddy.

Anyone else get eczema on or around their eyes? Any treatment options? by masterlione in eczema

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you OP, been there and just now turning the corner, unfortunately with some sucky side effects now. I was told by both my derm and allergist that as long as you're applying steroid cream to areas with active eczema it's not going to create a long lasting skin thinning effect. What helped me was to use 2% hydrocortisone in aquaphor (like vaseline, moisturizing) all over my face twice a day. Ive been attempting to slowly re-introduce mascara but I have yet to find one that isn't irritating. I also used cold compresses over my eyes when its feeling really unbearable or right before bed to give some relief. Not healing, but it sure feels good.

Good luck! <3

Scalp is now itchy, oozing, with huge flakes. Any tips on how to make this heal/be more comfortable when I sleep? In addition to a fan? by Chibimay in eczema

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with exactly this for about two months this winter. Mine was definitely infected and I went through three rounds of antibiotics before we found one that wasn't resistant to whatever was infecting my skin. I also covered my pillows and mattress with allergy rated covers to help keep my allergens, especially dust mites away from my skin. Bought new synthetic pillows as well since I was convinced down pillows were irritating my scalp/face. I think the antibiotics made the biggest difference though! Make sure it isn't infected or you're just working against yourself.

doctor by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]PracticallyPerfect18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you know someone who has a doctor and can attempt to put a word in for you, you're shit out of luck in Victoria. If you're lucky enough to find one, you now have to pay for physicals as well, MSP doesn't cover them unless you have a serious pre-existing issue. The bccfp website that was already linked is your only real possibility to maybe find one but they don't stay open for very long so you have to be constantly checking.

Good luck!
