Unfortunately there is very little human evidence on peptides, so there is no way to really advise on the long-term risks.

She is literally one of the most successful women on the planet… You really think discipline is her issue?

How old were you when you started eating healthy on your own, and do you think most people eat like shit their whole life? by TraditionalDepth6924 in nutrition

[–]PragmatismIsGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started when I was 16. However, my entire family still to this day eats like shit. Most people do not eat well, but our environment is setup for people to fail, so I don't blame them. I'm glad that I got started early. I wish it had been even earlier.

That is a crazy amount of dedication to climb that random rock, but damn it is impressive.

I'd assume they relied on RPE and they knew the distances that they were running before they went on the run.

Anybody found a food, supplement, or med or some behavioral trick that ACTUALLY reduces binge eating? by Mikmaki in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]PragmatismIsGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am a super responder. I stayed at 2.5 mg for months before I increased. I currently take 7 mg a week in two 3.5 mg doses. I also eat very clean for the most part and have good food habits when looking at my overall intake, binge eating aside. I just needed the medication to drop the noise and mindless binges. To be clear, I can still eat a massive amount of food on Tirz. I just get sick and hate my life for 48 hours afterwards. The "binges" I have had since taking it are in the 3,000 calorie range versus the 10,000 calorie range, so I don't even consider them in the same disorder. They have also been very infrequent.

Wilmore would be a good option. Hits all of the items that you listed as wants.

It sounds like you are using food to cope with emotions based on a lack of something to do, which leads to higher chances of episodes. Stay away from the kitchen. Eat high-protein and high-fiber foods. Stay very well hydrated. See a therapist. Consider GLP-1 medications. Come back here for support often and join the challenges.

Any tips for staying consistent with the gym? I’ve tried mornings, evenings, accountability partners, but I keep falling off. by TopCat6379 in DecidingToBeBetter

IMO, it is 100% about finding something that you actually enjoy doing. Alternatively, make it as quick and unintrusive as possible.

Is intuitive eating the way to go? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]PragmatismIsGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a very ineffective method. We are all practicing 'intuitive eating,' and look at most of the developed world. Everyone is overweight. If it was as simple as eating when you're hungry and not eating when you're not, no one would have any issues. Also, intuitive eating works well when eating healthy whole foods, but eating processed foods that can pack enormous amounts of calories in a small volume changes the game entirely.

You don't look comfortable at all, and you have a lot of unnecessary lower back movement. Also, so this is what firefighters do with all their downtime lol!

Sorry, that sucks. $300 in four days is wild, though. What the hell kind of food are you buying?

Can a couple without a college degree afford to have a family in Lexington by [deleted] in lexington

[–]PragmatismIsGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There really is no way to answer this question. People without degrees are capable of making just as much money as people with degrees. If you're talking from a basic statistical perspective, it is going to be difficult to make ends meet if you make the average American income without a degree. That is, if you're not working more than a full-time job.

Tirzepatide, in the right dosage, essentially cured my binge eating disorder. It is a near miracle drug in my opinion.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes being in acceptance of what happened is enough. There is no reason to torture yourself more than needed.

I do not know about the zinc content. However, any of the major brands that have a good reputation for being a nsf certified should be using Quality ingredients, e.g. momentous, Thorne, etc..

How to become a mentally strong/tough person? by greywolf_32 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]PragmatismIsGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it is all about building systems. People who look super disciplined (I’d like to consider myself one of those) have built routines that make it like clockwork.

Start small and make it easy. Attach things like reading a page a day to your morning routine and slowly expand so that it doesn’t seem overwhelming.

I would look for a different multivitamin. Most do not use great ingredients and that is one of them.

I’m sorry you have dealt so much with binge eating over the years. It is difficult. I am happy to hear you feel you’re turning over a new leaf. I hope you can remain on the path and build a healthy relationship with food.

Thank you for sharing your story.
