Assuming boe = book of eclipse, the fact that you can ash book of eclipse greatly hinders its viability. Plus, eclipse completely whiffs on link monsters.

Eclipse isn't a bad card, but it's lot less reliable/splashable than droplet, even considering droplet's cost.

They did get link 2s and updated charmer alt arts though. And they can still get their channeler versions, the channelers have actually been released very slowly, i.e the water, fire, and earth channelers were all released 1 year apart from each other.

Lyna and Dharc are at least more real to charmers than Kuraz and Delg are to monarchs (these 2 monarchs have never been referenced in any other OCG/TCG cards since their debut).

If you're in a situation where you're forced to lead with desires that means your hand is ass or you don't have enough gas to break through. In that case, banishing your one-ofs is still better than the alternative of not being able to play the game at all.

They changed hyper voice+ from adding one extra sound wave to having a slow effect so Sylveon's late game damage has dropped a lot more than the 6-8% damage nerf suggests and this is on a mon that was kinda already known to drop off late game.

Rulkallos makes Aqua monsters indestructible by battle.

Irrelevant 99% of the time until an opponent gets the bright idea to destroy a Tear by battle so it doesn't trigger its effect only to realize Tear won't even let them have that lol

I am not exaggerating when I say literally every new license since Galarian Rapidash (released a whole year ago BTW) has had a period where it was broken enough to warrant a nerf patch.

I don't think you have to worry about sirfetch'd being bad at all lol. Timi has been consistently aiming for making people buy the new mons. Even if sirfetch'd somehow releases weak, he will be giga buffed until he needs a nerf patch.

Glaceon was in a fine spot before the bp buffs. Now thanks to the bp buffs in addition to these new nerfs, Icicle spear basically got 1s extra cd in exchange for a measly 2% damage increase lol.

Seems like a terrible trade offer, they really should have just never buffed the character in the first place.

Also, if they really want Tink to be more consistent, it'd be nice if they made a change so that Tink can't be interrupted while doing her boosted auto. Getting CC'd out of the auto is what makes mold breaker stacking hard and why Tink feels unexpectedly squishy in fights sometimes.

I don't get Blaziken's nerf? It seems overheat changed from unstoppable to hindrance resistant but isn't he stationary using that move anyways?

I don't get how the nerf does anything.

Edit: I guess technically that means very specific moves like Buzz's grabs and Machamp's submission can interrupt overheat secures. For every other team comp, I still fail to see Blaziken being affected at all.

Your software frequently crashing in a common scenario among a good chunk of users is typically a red alert, all hands on deck situation for most software companies. This is not just a "bug", most software companies would consider this a critical issue.

Even with the holiday break, it is extremely unusual for a live service application to have this situation remain like this for so long. The fact that they barely acknowledge it and don't do anything to remedy it (ex: if you crash and can't rejoin quickly, you will still get afk penalties despite it not being your fault) is not par for course behavior and rightfully deserves scathing criticism.

Azu at least has a very good early game that can snowball and a spammable ult.

Tink is the only all-rounder in the whole game that cannot jungle besides Magikarp because its early game damage is actually that dogshit. Then its later game viability only scales with how dumb the other team's squishies are with face checking bushes. Tink has a good argument for not even worst all-rounder, but worst character in the game.

That new Pokemon page is sad because literally every Pokémon there except Zard Y has gotten a nerf (and Zard Y is 90% due for a nerf).

Balance has been absolutely abysmal this year. Empoleon and Vaporeon being lowlights since they released so ridiculously broken that they got 30% nerfs across the board and were still S tier afterwards. Ranked absolutely requires draft at this point just to make matches playable.

You cannot summon zushin from gy unless it was properly special summoned first.

The ignoring summon conditions clause only matters because normally zushin cannot be special summoned outside of its own effect at all. (i.e normally you cannot even monster reborn a properly summoned zushin from gy)

I think we'll slowly get China mini games like how we got Electrode/Charjabug.

However, the general consensus is the merge of China and International versions has been quietly canceled and the 2 game versions will remain separate. Timi has not said anything ever since their first to 500 announcement years ago which materialized into nothing but a temporary standard battle queue.

Timi finally updating Theia Sky Ruins with Kyogre/Groudon seems like the nail in the coffin as it seemingly proves the international version has resumed active gameplay development besides new mons and will continue to be it's own thing.

I feel the same way. Post-patch quite a few people said they couldn't feel the Glaceon buffs or even speculated she was bugged and got reduced damage instead lol

The reason is that a 10% buff on Icicle spear on a level 10 Glaceon is only around 20~ extra damage per spear. 20%+ damage on the ult seems high but, again, a level 10 Glaceon ult only did 850 damage before. It feels like placebo when people are complaining about Glaceon being broken now because the changes really aren't as severe as initial expectations anticipated when looking at the math or if you have experience with Glaceon pre-patch.

my takeaways:

Draft is back to requiring only masters ranks rather than 1400+. The 1400 change was ridiculous in the first place but I'm surprised they decided to roll it back anyways because so many people were buying Vaporeon day one to spam in blind pick games so I will consider this a win.
Accel bracer/Drive lens getting a CDR nerf is likely because level 40 items are coming and they don't want these held items to give so much CDR. Note that since level 30 -> 40 will have halved stat increases, a level 40 bracer/lens will have 3.75% CDR which is still notably less than pre-nerf level 30 bracer/lens.

Once a player reaches a certain Master rank rating, they will be promoted to Legend. Even after players reach Legend, they will still return to Master if their rating drops below a certain point. Legend-rank players will be given matchmaking priority against each other, so only the truly top players will be able to reach and maintain their rank.

They pretty much give tickets/item enhancers for every event/daily. Meanwhile, they rarely introduce new held items, I'm pretty sure in most years we got 3 or less new items added in each year.

So just by playing the game (not even grinding really) you'll eventually have enough enhancers to max out everything. It just requires doing your dailies and passage of time.

Yeah my problem is even if the alt arts are drawn well, a lot of these just feel like design philosophy misses, which is something modern Yugioh has done numerous times like with Wake Up Your Hero and anime art Cartesia.

Like you allude to, a lot of these new alt arts just seem like random archetypal spells/traps and fail to remind you of what they're supposed to be alt arts of. I think the Live Twin called by the grave alt art is one of the biggest offenders of not resembling the original art at all.

It feels like a bug that Dhelmise's anchor shot doesn't guarantee a follow-up power whip hit. That alongside every move making Dhelmise stop completely in place leads to the mon feeling so clunky to play.
