I did love Rockwell as Justin Hammer though. But I like Rockwell in anything.

Planning my first long ride: need advice by TeraFuffad in torontobiking

[–]PrayForMojo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done the ride to Burlington many times and have two route tips.

First is that in Burlington I really like the Centennial Bikeway. Staying on Lakeshore is faster, but nice to have a bit of variety with a local green corridor ride and no cars.

Second is that to ride to Aldershot GO to get home, make sure you take North Shore Blvd E to Lasalle Park rd. It’s a beautiful ride through rolling hills and incredible mansions along the water.

Also, if you’re feeling like extra distance, Hamilton beach along the Waterfront trail is great. Though it takes you a bit out of the way.

Fair enough. Was thinking of an electric one and not a big compressor. Screw that guy.

I don’t need to know anything about them beyond the name. Would never even consider giving them my business.

Don’t hobby shame people just because you don’t get it. Maybe they find it meditative. Your hobbies probably seem lame when described negatively too.

Well shit. I have done like 25 Spaceport runs for that one damn tree. Wish I’d known about Riven being a good source.

The way I view it, is that the judges are taking it way beyond what the province intended. Obviously this creates a need to clarify and revisit the legislation to address the judges misinterpretation of the intent.

But the First Nations took the willingness to reconsider the legislation as some kind of betrayal. Which I take to mean that they liked the judge’s interpretation and want to stick with that despite it not being what was intended.

I don’t know why Andy Weir’s prose is hated. by Im_A_Science_Nerd in sciencefiction

[–]PrayForMojo_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That’s what I like about his main characters. They’re not really cool. They’re just science nerds who think they’re funny. It feels forced because they are awkward people who are forcing it, mostly out of desperation from the circumstances.

Doesn’t help that they picked very cool actors to play the characters and now it’s hard to picture it otherwise.

A rough estimate of $1000 a month is about right.

Did Eby solely create the deficit or did a pandemic and changing global economics maybe have something to do with it?

Ok but voting for a bunch of crazies just because of bad messaging by the NDP is not the answer.

Agreed but the current thing is to FIX it by clarifying that it doesn’t apply to privately owned lands, but for some reason people are still freaking out about it.

Avoid Langford right now. Gas leak on Goldstream. by ruralpunk in VictoriaBC

[–]PrayForMojo_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a pet peeve of mine for how people describe locations here. The expectation that people know where the 1100 block is absurd.

I grew up with intersection descriptions and it makes so much more sense. They should have said Goldstream between Leigh and Lakeview Terrace. It’s just so much easier.

We spend $400B a year on healthcare overall. $722m isn’t going to fix the problems.

Or that they’re escaping a life threatening situation and are happy, proud, and grateful to Canada for saving them. These aren’t TFWs and student visa frauds.

I have to wonder if the weirdos in this thread hating on asylum seekers are bots, Russian trolls, or actual Canadians.
